If it takes so long to decide on replay, it should go with the call on the field.

First pitch controversy...not so much the call itself but that it took approximately an hour and 47 minutes to decide. Jeeez...

EBjr has about the biggest lead off 1st I think I've ever seen. Young Ks on nice slider even as the pitcher holds EBjr on. Well done.

EBjr may be a step slower after diving back into 1st a half dozen times...he's caked in mud, looks 3-4 pounds heavier. Irrelevant as Keegan hit & runs him to 3rd with a single to right. Very nicely executed!

Minute and a half should be plenty.

P.S. So no "Commodores on the corners brought to you by Corner Pub" this season?

What kind of mud pit do they have at first? If Bredfield gets thrown out it will be because of the ten pounds of mud he picked up at first.

Unfortunate out at 2nd as Bulger bloops a would-be single to right, but Keegs had to hold halfway to see if it's caught and then gets thrown out at 2nd. EBjr scored, 1-0 Vandy! Noland lines put to left to take us to Leiter-time...

Tough start for Leiter, leadoff 5-pitch walk and falls behind next guy 2-0 before another strike. Another 5-pitch walk, not even close. 10 pitches, 8 balls. This has become a pattern for Leiter now for the last 3 games, coming out shaky.

How long a rope do you give Leiter based on last week & the importance of this series?

Grooves a fastball in the wheelhouse and Fla hitter parks it in the LF bullpen, 3-1 Fla. Brownie out after ball 1 to next hitter...

Have we let the guy throw too many pitches in prior games?

Finally gets a couple outs on a pair of pops to 2B. Lucky on the 2nd one, left an average fastball in the middle of the plate and the hitter missed it. Groundout to 1B, time to get to work

RF clearly a tough sunny afternoon environment. Kolwyk looked to struggle on both pops to him, and the Fla RF almost turned a fairly routine deep fly into extra bases.

Spencer Jones DHing gets HBP, Kolwyk doubles him to 3rd, doesn't score because he fell down rounding 3rd, lucky to scramble back to 3rd. Romero grounds out to 2nd, Jones scores, EBjr line drive oppo single to LF ties it up. Immediately steals 2nd, but Young grounds out to 2nd,...heading to bottom of 2, tied 3-3. Time for Leiter to settle down and throw strikes.

Fla coach pulling his best Earl Weaver on something. Plate umpire remained calm, play resumes.
Leadoff single, Leiter up to 31 pitches, just not sharp.

Leiter gets his first K on a high, hard fastball, nice pitch after staying down on the first 3 pitches to the hitter. And again on the next hitter, same pattern gets another K on a high, hard fastball. Maybe finding his groove, maybe, maybe, maybe...

That would really be nice.

Florida coach cussed out ump from 2 outs in the top of the second all the way until the start of the bottom of the second after the commercials. Guess if you’re a scum bag all the time you get more leniency, absolutely blows my mind he wasn’t ejected.

And gets his 3rd straight K on the same pattern again, the last strike a high, hard fastball. 40 pitches in 2 innings, but looks to be settling in. Let's hope.
