Being very generous to MSU early on. Sigh.

Indeed, we'll have to keep an eye on the outside strike zone as we go forward.

It's tough when you have a young pitcher struggling but even worse when the ump is making it harder by having a baseball size strike zone

I like Cooper Davis, seems like a good young man and team leader, but I really don't understand why he keeps playing. He's never been a good outfielder, and he's not hitting much at all. There have to be better alternatives.

Could the start have been any worse? Gift wrap it and give it away, why don't you?

I do. Pretty annoying.
For those of you not watching, feel fortunate. UGLY start. 3 runs already in, bases loaded, 1 out, McElvain in to pitch.

What was that, about a 70 pitch 1st inning for us?

Indeed! Mac leaves the bases loaded with a huge K a routine fly to center.
It's Sunday, time to start scoring a lot of runs, beat up on this Freshman pitcher.

Strikes 1 & 2 to Young were both balls for Reilly.

What is up with Young & Keegan lately, unable to even make contact with any regularity? That 1st inning was waaay too easy for Dawgs.

To answer my own question, it was a 41 pitch 1st inning for Vandy. Oh, a homerun for State as I type this.

Except for the 400-foot+ HR to dead center (that dude is strong, looked like he hit it off the end of his bat on a pretty good pitch away from him), McElvain was strong in the 2nd.

You don't see a handcheck in baseball very often. For those not watching, Bulger hit a huge pop up behind 3rd and both the 3B & SS parked under it; the SS pushed the 3B away to catch it. Kinda funny...under different circumstances.
