Any word on our injured players ...

Kolwyck, Thomas and Davis? Wasn't expecting Tate to be back so soon, but if Isaiah and/or Coop will be out for long we should have heard something.

This article does not mention injuries: https://vucommodores.com/georgia-on-deck/

I do see that our Saturday starting pitcher is TBA. That could be a sign that it will be someone other than Schultz.

Candidates? I would suggest either Ethan Smith (43 pitches over 2 2/3 innings on Saturday) or Sam Hliboki (32 pitches, 3.0 innings Thursday).

While I don't like the idea of every midweek game being a Staff Day, we can get by against the Skyhawks and Golden Eagles of the Ohio Valley Conference. That's not going to cut it against the Bulldogs, Gators and Bulldogs of the SEC.

I haven't read anything, but watching the game he appeared to pull up lame running after a fly ball. He hobbled back to the dugout immediately after. I'm guessing (again haven't heard or read anything) a hamstring. Hopefully it's a tweak and nothing more serious.

The announcers on Tuesday were talking about Kolwyk being involved in fielding drills. No reason to rush him back into the batting cage with a hamate fracture, but he shouldn't be too far off.
It also appears as if the plan is to have Spencer Jones in the OF when they are comfortable letting him throw. We haven't scratched the surface on his talent, and I expect him to have a very good second half.

The silver lining is that the injuries is that we are seeing what guys like Bulger (future star), Duff, and Hogan can do.

As for Sunday? I thought Ethan Smith was going to have that role when the season started, but he was the closer. With Murphy solidifying that role and Fisher inching back in, I'd like to see him get another shot. Hliboki is another logical candidate, but he does seem to thrive in a reliever role. The 3/4 starter roles are shaky, but the pen is deep if we can just get 5 solid innings from anyone.

I think Ethan, Tate and Cooper will be back for the Miss St. series. Hliboki is probably out for a while. In fact what I have heard Smith would have been your 3rd start last week against Georgia and this week against Tenn.
