Who Starts Tomorrow?

Post by VUaskew »

I am making the assumption that it will be someone who has not pitched yet.

The only returning pitchers who haven't been in yet are Doolin and Hugh Fisher, who I believe to be strictly a reliever.

So, will it be Doolin, Christian Little (arguably the most-touted Freshman?) or some other newcomer?

Love to hear your thoughts.

Seems like there are plenty of options for both Wednesday and Friday. Doolin and Little seem like as good options as any.

I’m assuming Rocker and Leiter will be ready to turnaround and start on Saturday and Sunday on a short week.

Also, is Ethan Smith the closer now? Is he out of the starting rotation?

Max Herz on SEC+ said Ethan Smith will be the closer for now.

Doolin started one of the Fall Series games, though he got knocked out after a rough one-third inning. Other Fall Series starters were Rocker, Leiter, McElvain, and freshmen Miles Garrett and Grayson Moore. Moore may be the more experienced of the latter two because of his time in the summer league.

We have Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun/Sun coming up. Could be that whomever is expected to be the midweek starter will take the mound Wednesday and make Friday a staff day. Then go with Rocker, Leiter, Schultz.

STRONG. Someone pointed out that we are starting the Top 3 pitching recruits in the nation for the last three years.
