For those who didn't see Joe Rexrode's piece about Robert Hassell for The Athletic, this one from Sports Illustrated is a good summary:

With the MiLB in turmoil at the moment, does Vandy start to look like the more attractive option? Of course I think it is a pretty attractive option to go to Vandy at any time, but there's the real possibility he doesn't see the field for a full year at the very least. I don't know what his birthday is, but say he comes to school for 2 or 3 years, develops under the tutelage of Corbs, Baxter, and maybe even Browny, and re-enter the draft in a few years. Still, that's a lottttt of money to turn down.

Don't forget that drafted players this year don't get but a fraction of their bonus until next year. By then he'd already have one of his 3 years completed.
