Who knows what goes through the head of an 18 year. If he is a top 10 majors draft pick, he is probably gone. Maybe not.

Top 10 high school prospect, which doesn't mean top 10 overall.LawoftheWest wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2019 11:07 pmWho knows what goes through the head of an 18 year. If he is a top 10 majors draft pick, he is probably gone. Maybe not.

We'll sign a top 3 class and we'll lose several. Peter Crow Armstrong and Hassell fall into the longshot category. Everyone with a top 5 class is in the same boat, and we won't know until next August whether the class ranks #1 or #10, but it's another elite class.

Jack Leiter said he was going to go to college so teams didn’t draft him until late. At that point, the money isn’t good enough to convince top players to sign.
Odds are if Hassell doesn’t do the same he would be an early pick or at least 1st round. Not many kids turn that down.
