Bryan Reynolds now leading the NL in batting average

Post by AuricGoldfinger »

Sporting a .338 average, just ahead of Christian Yelich (.333) and Jeff McNeil (.332). Despite how lousy the Pirates are, this will be really interesting to watch for the last month and a half of the season.

Sure, the league that plays that bastardization of the game with the designated hitter!

As much of an NL fan that I am, the designated hitter is standard almost everywhere. High school baseball, college baseball, American League, most minor league games, and most international teams use the DH.

It's a travesty that he is barely in the ROY conversation outside of a few circles. His advanced metrics all measure up well with the the two leading candidates, Alonso and Tatis.

Tatis is likely out for the season after hurting his back today. While I hate to see any player injured, that does help Reynolds get more attention, thought it will still be hard to beat Alonso of the Mets, who has already tied the NL rookie home run record.

Reynolds is down to 4th in the NL (behind, McNeil at .333, Yelich, and Rendon), but still within easy striking distance of the title at .328.

Cheering for Reynolds to win the batting crown. Buehler struck out 11` yesterday to go to 11-3. Casali hit HR to spark Reds victory. good to be Gold!

And he's back on top of the NL, just like that.
