What an inning! 13-1 now after a 3-run dinger.

Nice 6 spot in the 6th. Hold LSU to two or less over the next two and the run rule stops the game. Would be huge for our bull pen. Get the guys some rest, too.

And Fisher comes in and throws a triple right and a single off the bat. 13-2

Line on Fisher: 2 hits, 3 runs, 2 HBP, 2 Wild pitches. So much for the 10 run rule.

I don't think fatgue is the issue with our bullpen. If anything, most of them (excluding Brown of course) could use the innings, to work out the "kinks". Our pen has a lot of kinks.

I really meant rest for the position players. Awfully hot in Birmingham right now.

Cooper Davis batted for the first time since April and Tom Hart, the TV play-by-play man, not only didn't mention his name during the at bat, he didn't mention him when he worked a walk. Bush league.

He was too busy building up Ole Miss to comment on the actual game.

Actually when Cooper was at bat, they were debating who would be the final teams to host a regional. Tom Hart is the worst about going off subject. Unfortunately, I'm guessing he will be calling the championship game today.

So true! When a team has 4 top notch starting pitchers, a shutdown closer, and one of the best defenses and offenses in college baseball, the bullpen just does not get enough innings, nor the experience of entering the game in critical situations.

It is probably easy to lose focus when you team is cruising along and leading by 5, 6 or more runs, and you are called to go in. In the tighter games, the bullpen has done well when called upon.

The guys have played a good schedule, but the only thing missing before the tournament was playing before a hostile crowd like at LSU or MSU. That is always an eye opener for the younger players and they got this experience at this tournament, which has set a new attendance records this year.
