Great opportunity for BR as the Pirates are currently leading their division early this year.

Batting in the no. 5 slot. Not bad.

Bryan went 3 for 4 today with a double; hitting .667 after two games.

He is crushing the ball! Got his first HR last night in extra innings. Only through 8 games but he is batting .423 with an OPS of 1.154.

So far has a hit in every game he has played. Did a quick google search of the most consecutive games with a hit to start ones career. Didnt find an obvious answer but I think it is 17. Some guy names David Dahl with the Rockies tied it a few years back. The first person to do it was back in the 40s. Reynolds is about halfway there.

I used to work with Dahl's mother. That kid was a player. We heard daily updates to the point that I hated the Rockies, ha.

Ho Hum, another hit for Bryan today - a bases-clearing double. The Pirates announcer call: "It's another Reynolds Wrap for Bryan." Ugh

For whatever reason, Bryan had been considered kind of a mid-level prospect. Like 9th or 10th or so in the Giants and Pirates organizations. I’m not saying he can keep this incredible pace up, but I also can’t say I’m surprised he’s hitting very well. I really do sometimes wonder what scouts see, because I don’t think any of us would have doubted Bryan could hit at the major league level. All he needed was the opportunity.

He can hit a baseball. Sneaky good athlete, too.

Bryan was always one of my favorites. As consistent and steady as they come on offense, and an exceptionally gifted defender. He may never be an MLB All-Star (though I think he could be if he develops a bit more power) but he could be a Nick Markakis-type player for many years.

He only hit .312 throughout his minor league career, was a 2nd round pick, and played in the best conference in college baseball. Guess he's not flashy enough for them...

Bryan got a single in the sixth to keep alive his consecutive hit streak to start his MLB career.
