Georgia at Vandy, 2/5/23, Noon (SEC Network)

Post by MikeADore »

Georgia is very, very tough and physical on defense. They led late in the game against unbeaten LSU in Baton Rouge Thursday night before finally losing in overtime. I'm hoping they're feeling a bit let down because of that and not fired up looking to redeem themselves.

I look for a good showing from our players. Can Georgia stop Harrison? That is obviously a key. We definitely win the coaching matchup.

Georgia has not missed a shot with 1:50 left in the first quarter.

11 for 11 in quarter until a last-second heave beyond the arc missed. Unbelievable.

Allen and LaChance started in place of Chambers and Brown. All have played, though.

Georgia shot 77.3% in first half, and they're known as a defensive team.

This is Vandy WBB for the last 6 years, and for the foreseeable future. Where have you been?

BTW, you'll be able to ask the same question a decade from now. For a team that once spent 1/3 of a year at #1 in the nation. The game is not even mentioned on the other 2 sites. Not a post after halftime on this one. The only reason there's a thread here is Mike. I appreciate his faithfulness.

Anyone here is welcome to start a game thread if one hasn't already been started. I appreciate Mike too. :)

At least one of the other sites is populated by many miserable, cranky men who don’t care for or even consider women’s sports. It’s not a barometer of anything but madness.

I believe Coach Ralph will have our program significantly improved in the coming years.

The previous 2 coaches ran this program in the ground and Shea has signed the best recruiting class since CMB’s first class. As good as we were in the past, we have never won an SEC regular season title. It’s going to take any VU coach 4-6 years to turn a football or basketball program around after we have been down to where we were. I’m confident Shea will get this program in the NCAAs and will be there to stay as long as she is here.
