A Few Things About Kansas

Post by MikeADore »

* They’re 6-1 on the season (5-0 home), but it’s their lone loss that’s most concerning, They lost by 10 to the Lady Vols in the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas. It was legitimately close. UT outscored them in every period but never by more than four points.
* They’re big. The starting post, junior Taiyanna Jackson, is 6’6, and she's no bean pole. They have five 6’4 players and one 6’3. Yep, seven of their 15 players are 6’3 or taller. Even allowing for a bit of exaggeration on the official roster, they’re still legitimately big. Several of the bigs are freshmen and sophomores.
* They have a player from East Nashville Magnet School, senior, Erica Haynes-Overton. She, of course, is the smallest player on the team at 5’6.
* They’re another team, like MTSU, loaded with international players with seven of their 15 from foreign climes.
* This is Brandon Schneider’s seventh year as head coach. His only winning season was 15-14 in 2019-20. Going into this season, folks around the program seemed to think this was his best squad.
* Their scoring is very balanced with three players averaging double figures and three others between seven and nine.
