Re: College Football News analyzes Vandy's 2023 schedule
From the article:
The Commodores get a week off before playing Ole Miss from the West followed up by a date with Auburn. That’s about as nice as it gets in the SEC. That means they miss Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M. With all the games against the East still around, the conference schedule isn’t that bad going to Ole Miss kicks off a rough run of road games in three of the last four.
Isn't that bad? Well, yeah, the West opponents could be worse (who knows how Auburn and Ole Miss will be this season?)-- but it seems like they're glossing over the East schedule that includes the defending two-time national champions, and a resurgent Tennessee and South Carolina on the road.

For me, the key game is at Wake. Win that one and a 4-0 start coming out of the non-conference is a real possibility (VU will be favored in the other three games), with Kentucky and Missouri coming to Nashville after that. The idea of being bowl eligible before the calendar even flips to October would be within reach.
