Longwell is a bit undersized for a linebacker but is absolutely ripped. For the second year in a row Vandy is filling out its signing class with under-recruited prospects from the local area. (Auburn, Colorado, Tulane, Liberty, and Memphis were among his other reported offers.)
He is the second member of the Division II-AA Tennessee state champion Lipscomb Academy Mustangs to sign with Vandy's class of 2023 (Junior Sherrill is the other). For those who haven't been paying attention, Lipscomb under Trent Dilfer has become a virtual factory for college prospects, only about three miles from Vandy's campus. (Dilfer departed after last season for UAB, and was replaced by former Titans star Kevin Mawae, an LSU grad.)

I saw where he was ranked the 47th-rated player in Tennessee.... hope he is a diamond in the rough.
