Goodbye, South End Zone; should begin to be demolished this spring
Here's a facilities update:
North end zone already has been destroyed
South end zone demolition to begin "soon" (this spring)
More ADA compliant seating will be added in the rest of the stadium
Band is moving over to Section R
Here's a map of the stadium for this fall's games (!):

I know i'm one of the slowest people on this- or the other- board(s). But it would NEVER have occurred to me to replace the stadium a section at a time. Have any other schools done that?

That's not exactly what they're doing-- there are currently no plans to replace the east and west stands-- but lots of schools have knocked down their end zone sections and built larger, nicer ones. Ole Miss is a fairly recent example.

From what I've seen, that would be better than what they are using now.
In all seriousness, this is good news. The south end zone wasn't originally slated to come down until the end of the next season.

Re: Goodbye, South End Zone; should begin to be demolished this spring
Was glad to see this in my Vandy United update:
South End Zone
· Fans who were seated in those sections will be contacted by the ticket office regarding availability in the remaining seating areas of FirstBank Stadium
· Fans being relocated from the south end zone will keep their 2022 pricing for the 2023 season in select areas of the stadium

Yes, quite obviously. I'd estimate only about 30,000 tickets to sell for the seven games this fall. Let that sink in a bit.
I'm guessing ticket prices will be considerably more expensive this year. And tickets to premium games like Georgia and Auburn should be in a fair amount of demand.

Might as well put the band in Section Q. The students aren’t using it.
At least we know from the Florida game that there are steps down to the field over there.

A pat on the back to VUAD. A well thought out plan to include /consider the VU fan base during the inconvenience of the upgrades. Hasn't always been the case - good job !FayetteDore wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 10:30 am Was glad to see this in my Vandy United update:

Agree on appreciating the updates. I hope after the official groundbreaking February 8 that regular updates will be forthcoming.
Another idea would be a livestream cameras at the construction sites. Maybe someone in the AD would think outside the box on that one.

Fortunately, I am already on that. It's my understanding that one is ready to go after the groundbreaking.frstev17 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 2:49 pm Agree on appreciating the updates. I hope after the official groundbreaking February 8 that regular updates will be forthcoming.

I know it will always be the less desirable side in terms of having the sun in your face, but hopefully during this reshuffling they find a way to get most of the visiting fans out of the main TV camera view

My suggestion involves fewer people getting moved.
Put the TV camera booths and platforms on the east side of the field.

Have they released a number on the capacity for the stadium once it’s finished? The renderings I saw looked like it would be quite a bit under 40,000.

Re: Capacity
For 2023 it will be well under 40,000. For both of you with seats in the North End Zone and a whole bunch of folks with seats in the South End Zone (H-O plus a few others) are supposed to be offered temporary seating for the season at the same price you had paid last year.GoheenFan88 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 2:00 pm Have they released a number on the capacity for the stadium once it’s finished? My Section A seat is probably going UP in price because of the seventh game. We shall see.
If the new sections have actual seats with arms and backs, there will be fewer seats than when they were just metal bleachers.

7th Game???? Am I missing something? I haven't heard ANYTHING about picking up a 7th game. Can anyone fill me (us) in??

I guess I'm mistaken. I thought I saw something in the VU Tickets notice that said 7 games.
Doesn't matter. My price will probably go up anyway. Pay for the expansion, Because we can, yada yada yada.
