Pretty hard seeing him dislodging Will Rogers as the No. 1 there. Certainly would seem like he would have had a better chance to do that with AJ here.

wish him well, and wish he had stayed - he was captain and really was the kind of leader I would have loved to have continued to cheer for.

No need to apologize. Certainly a question that bears asking twice.

Re: Mike Wright to Mississippi State
State already named Zach Arnett, their DC, as permanent head coach. They named Kevin Barbay as OC and QB coach just last week.
My guess is Mike is setting himself up to compete for the starting job in 2024, after Rogers leaves campus.
Re: Mike Wright to Mississippi State
Rogers is a passing QB for an Air Raid offense. New HC Arnett has publicly said their offense will be more diverse, and the new OC is NOT an Air Raid Disciple from the Mumme-Leach tree. Take a look at this article:

Mike may have found a good place for a running QB.

For a series or two as a change of pace in the middle of the second quarter.

In the US News & World Report, Miss State is ranked last academically among SEC schools. Wright going from the best to the worst academic school is a sad commentary on his priorities.

Re: Mike Wright to Mississippi State
I had same thought, given that his transfer is probably not going to result in a better situation on the field than he had here.
