Already took a free transfer to BYU, so he must have graduated because UT doesn’t want him on the bench for a year.
After a redshirt year and two seasons playing for the ‘Dores, GJ-L still has 2 years of eligibility due to the Covid year.
It used to be prudent to redshirt a player who may not see a lot of action. But now I see that all we are doing is paying for 2 or 3 years of the guy’s “education” to get 1 or 2 seasons of play.

The concept of redshirting and its future is an interesting one. The top programs have really started foregoing the practice starting more than a decade ago, I'm guessing because they were losing guys to the pros and not getting as much on the field time from them. Everyone may be moving into that boat soon.
