UT suspends WR for first half of Florida game

Post by Golddore68 »

This is a joke. Typical UT, Fulmer-type penalty.

WR Jimmy Calloway threw 4-5 punches at an Akron player who grabbed his facemask.

Heuppel is suspending him for the first half vs. Florida.

That's pathetic. It's like he's afraid he'll need Calloway to beat Florida so he's only suspending him for one half.

If UT's next opponent was another team like Akron, he would probably have been suspended for the whole game.

This is exactly the sort of crap that Fulmer always did and then held a press conference to talk about how strict he was with penalties. He would penalize key players he needed for only a half if they were playing Florida or Bama or Georgia the next game but if they were playing a no-name nonconference game they would be suspended for the whole game.

One time their backup quarterback (Schrader was his name) was arrested for drugs or something and Fulmer "kicked him off the team." But it turns out Schraeder had already announced he was transferring to North Carolina State.
