Not a fan. The Star V is one of the most crisp/cool looks in college sports in my opinion. Not sure why we continue to try to steer away from it.

We've always switched around logos in football, so it doesn't really matter there, but it is a mistake to rebrand the "V" on the baseball hats, which is associated with a successful brand.

From SID Alan George:

The new marks and logos will render extremely well on uniforms, merchandise, athletics facilities, campus buildings and signage, generating excitement among teams, alumni, the Vanderbilt fanbase and the university community.

When will athletics uniforms, playing fields and facilities reflect the new logo?
Given the long lead time required for athletic uniform design and production, uniforms featuring the new logos will debut in fall 2023. Athletics facilities and playing fields will be updated with the new marks over the next several years as is logistically feasible to do so.

Looks a lot like Villanova's "V". A poor change in my opinion.

Thanks for the info, Brent.

" render extremely well....generating excitement .... the university community". Dang , I feel so excited already about the newly rendered uniforms and signage. Can't wait for the extensive coverage in Sports Illustrated about Vanderbilt's expected resurgence due to the new logos.

What an incredible truckload of marketing crap !

Wonder how much we paid for some genius to come up with this piece of crap. Looks like a third-grader came up with it. Seen better looking “V”’s on a set of alphabet blocks.

Of all the things that need fixing in the VU AD, the logo wasn't one of them. File this idea under "Rearragement of Deck Chairs: Titanic" category.

Why are you messing with the one thing about Vanderbilt athletics that is perfect as is?
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

He's a Kentucky guy, not a Vanderbilt man.

My 3 nominations for the athletic logo are:

1. a snapshot of Alfred E Neuman
2. an ostrich with his/her head in the sand
3. an athletic supporter died black and gold

Man, they're being scorched on both the two main twitter threads about this:

Vanderbilt Athletics
https://twitter.com/vucommodores/status ... Z5lNC1js0A
Ironically in this one, narrated by the AD, it shows the women's basketball team in Memorial Gym with all the championship banners hanging in the background, all bearing the Star V (at 28 seconds in).

And university's main twitter account:
https://twitter.com/VanderbiltU/status/ ... rUeap31sQA

The biggest critics seem to be alumni.
One notable tweet says that they are replacing the Star V with a "Fat V."

As someone posted in the VM MBB version of this thread, even Xavier Athletics trolled the new logo last night after the game. Ouch! But cheeky nevertheless:
