NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt Athletics finished with an overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 97 during the 2020-21 academic year — the highest of any Southeastern Conference program for the sixth straight year — the NCAA announced Wednesday. The NCAA Graduation Success Rate tracks degree completion for student-athletes, even those who transfer.
Ten Vanderbilt programs earned a perfect score, as those programs led both the nation and the SEC. The Commodores finished one point ahead of second-place South Carolina in the SEC, tied for 20th nationally overall and tied for third among Power 5 programs behind only Northwestern and Duke.
Vanderbilt’s football program led the SEC with a GSR of 95 and ranked fifth nationally among programs affiliated with a Power 5 conference.
The 10 Commodore programs with perfect scores included baseball, bowling, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s golf, women’s golf, lacrosse, men’s tennis, soccer and women’s tennis.
For NCAA purposes, Vanderbilt women’s cross country and track and field are combined in GSR measuring and that program finished with a score of 95. The swimming program recorded a 90.
Vanderbilt posted a 3.27 grade-point average this past spring semester, the highest ever for the department. With its 3.26 cumulative grade-point average for 2020-21 athletic season, Vanderbilt exceeded a 3.0 grade-point average for the 15th straight year.
Vanderbilt’s NCAA Graduation Success Rate of 96 last year was also the highest among Southeastern Conference institutions.

I'm so confused by what constitutes in graduation success as intuitively I would think it meant that you started at a school and graduated at the same school. In this age of 20 transfers per team per year, how will this be impacted? Will Vandy lead the NCAA at a 22% graduation rate in 5 years?

Can't get real about excited human organization or gender studies degrees. Seems like getting a kindergarten studies degree at M.I.T. Big name school but still lame degree!
