State championship games today in Chattanooga for two Vandy commits

Post by BrentVU »

The Thursday schedule:

Division II-AA championship, 11:00 a.m.: Lipscomb Academy vs. CPA (Langston Patterson and baseball commitment Cade Law)

Division I-AA championship, 3:00 p.m.: DCA vs. Nashville Christian

Division III-AA championship, 7:00 p.m.: MBA (Grayson Morgan) vs. McCallie (Kenzy Paul)

NOTE: Kenzy Paul de-committed from Vanderbilt and later committed to Duke. However, Duke has fired coach David Cutcliffe and hasn't yet named a replacement, so who knows where that stands?

Both MBA and CPA came up short in their championship games, as McCallie (III-AA) and Lipscomb Academy (II-AA) won state championships. More games Friday and Saturday for the public school programs.

Langston Patterson had 105 yards rushing and 10 tackles, but the Lions were shut out by Lipscomb for the second time this season. Patterson will play linebacker at Vandy.

"We just didn't play well," said MBA offensive lineman Grayson Morgan, a Vanderbilt commitment. "We just never really got clicking on offense. Defense did the best they could." --Tennessean

Here are some photos of Grayson Morgan (77) after the MBA-McCallie game...

Isn't Brad Gaines kid the QB at DCA? They won a gold ball yesterday, I think.
