Re: Vandy-Tennessee thread
We have to find a way to produce some big plays. 20 play drives for TDs are more rare than 1 play TD drives

Re: Vandy-Tennessee thread
What WAS the spread? Because you know Tennessee could have kept playing instead of letting the clock run down.
Can't scamper or slither...but I used to swim.
Re: Vandy-Tennessee thread
Spread was 30+ as I recall. I saw one prediction at 55-10.
I'll say this. I have watched VU football closely since the 1969 season, so I have seen some good, a lot bad, and a lot ugly. This team never quit in any game. They were outmanned often, and out coached occasionally. But the players and coaches all got better every game.

I agree with this. Now we've got to see what kind of players Lea can get and what adaptations he makes for next season. I have hope we'll improve. I just don't know how much.Seadog73 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 6:29 pm Spread was 30+ as I recall. I saw one prediction at 55-10.

Re: Vandy-Tennessee thread
Sorry I have watched even longer. It didn't seem to me like we made any progress today. We never had a real chance to win-at least that's how it felt.
I agree the effort didn't wane, but until we have some creativity and unpredictability on offense, I don't
see how the wins will come. We have to be able to make big plays, turn momentum, excite the team, then
excite the fanbase, create buzz. What do we really offer to the top players? How do we recruit them?
I think a big adjustment to our offense is needed. If a new OC etc is the answer, then we have to take that step. We will see if our head coach can make difficult decisions very soon.

Re: Vandy-Tennessee thread
I agree with the effort of the players. I will say I think our coaching staff really squandered 2 SEC games where we could have broken an 0fer streak. There were some really bad coaching decisions made in those 2 games in crucial moments.Seadog73 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 6:29 pm Spread was 30+ as I recall. I saw one prediction at 55-10.

Our ceiling was 5 wins this year. We wound up with 2. It started off horrible with the whole OC fiasco before the season, getting crushed by ETSU. All in all, I wish we would have just gotten 1 SEC win, that's why I was so mad we blew 2 opportunities.
