So replay can go back and call penalties they missed now?

Post by Golddore68 »

I didn’t think replay officials could call a penalty they missed on the previous play. That opens a whole can of worms. Now if there looked like there might have been pass interference on the previous play, they can stop the game, watch the play again, and call pass interference. This is ridiculous.

They can for targeting, but not necessarily for any penalty. A targeting review can be initiated on the field by a flag or by the booth.

Think he is referring to when they went back and reviewed vandy having a lineman down field on a pass that set up 3rd and 5. Changed it to 2nd and 21.

They can review any play that is listed as a reviewable play. Lineman downfield is reviewable.
