Worst loss ever?
What is the worst we have ever been beaten?
Worst shut out?
Iirc, DiNardo’s last game was 65 to not much....UF dropped 70+ on Woody in the Swamp.

Re: Worst loss ever?
Perhaps ... but they may have mercy like Saban did a few years ago and instead of lighting of the scoreboard to score 100 + points (which they easily could do) they will just hand-off and end this thing. If they truly wanted to show mercy, they will not only use their towel boy, but he could close his eyes as he runs through the gaping holes. Who knows, he may run out of bounds or backwards.

Re: Worst loss ever?
Stat sheet is just as bad as the score.
First downs are 25 to 3.
Total yards are 483 to 54.
Georgia can obviously, obviously get to 69-0 if they feel like it.

Re: Worst loss ever?
Depressing as it was expected. A few quick thoughts.
Hard to believe we beat themjust a couple of years ago.
Are we really this bad, I’m sad to say most likely.
Were we looking past UGA To UCONN next week.
What’s it gonna be like vs ole miss, their coach is likely to want to run the score up.
Can’t wait for better times

I was at the 65-0 game as well. Also the 66-3 affair at Alabama. Just missed the 1917 game.
This seems worse with scholarship limits and so called parity.

Re: Worst loss ever?
Worst game I remember is the 66-3 thrashing that AL laid on us in 1979. We also lost to the Citadel that year. I briefly attended the 65-0 loss to UT but was mercifully intoxicated. Evidently I went back to the tailgate sometime in the second quarter.

When are these better times coming? Mason’s teams were never this bad - and that’s saying a lot

Last time Vanderbilt played Alabama, the score was 59-0.
The last time Vanderbilt played Florida, the score was 56-0.
The last time Vanderbilt played Missouri, the score was 41-0.
The last time Vanderbilt played South Carolina, the score was 41-7.
That's the state of the program coming into this season.

Re: Worst loss ever?
Fred Pancoast lost to D-2 Citadel
Watson Brown got blown out by death penalty SMU
DiNardo finished one season by losing 52-0 and 62-14 and the next 65-0
Woody had 71 and 56 hung on him in consecutive weeks.
Temple game. UNLV game. Today's game.
Worst ever? All of the above.

Re: Worst loss ever?
Does any other message board have so many threads over the years on this theme (or the related worst team ever)?
Re: Worst loss ever?
I think back in 2010 FLA had 49 points on us in the first half and, remarkably, ran out the clock deep in our territory to end the first half. Taking their foot off the gas was one thing, but turning the ignition off, in the first half no less, was another.

Re: Worst loss ever?
In the 1990 Alabama game in we trailed 52 to 0 midway through the second quarter (on pace for a 136 to 0 loss). Alabama then switched gears, and the final score was a "respectable" 59 to 28.Johnmn555 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 11:04 pm I think back in 2010 FLA had 49 points on us in the first half and, remarkably, ran out the clock deep in our territory to end the first half. Oddly, VU's only win that year (Watson Brown's third 1 and 10 team) was against an SEC team, LSU.

Re: Worst loss ever?
You must be drinking the juice. TEMPLE (37-7)? Score not as bad, but they were not good and we WERE favored. Next year, Georgia Tech 38-7. Again, they were no where as good as Georgia. 2017, Alabama 59-0. Florida 56-0. And just last year where we AVERAGED giving up 37.33 a game.

Re: Worst loss ever?
Well, the last 2 games of DiNardo's next to last season were horrific.
And while Brown did rebound from the disaster in Dallas to shock a mediocre LSU club, he did give up almost 60 three different times the rest of the way that year and one of those was to Wake (3-8).
My brother-in-law did warn me that when poach left, this current misery would happen. He described the poach years as "lightning in a bottle." Not saying CCL can't fix it. He can. Remember the Bryce Drew 20 game losing streak? It's taken 3 years to finally have a complete roster of D-1 quality basketball players. And football takes many times more bodies and moving parts to fix. At least basketball will be pretty good for a change.
