A Dadgum Institutional Embarrassment

Post by Albert_Camus »

On the field and in the stands. Why?

There are speed bumps all over the country laughing.

I honestly think if there was a conference that would allow us to maintain this level in baseball-and take us-we’d go

This started in the 50"s when the Chancellor reduce the number of available football scholarships when the rest of the SEC had basically unlimited schollie's.

As much as I wish for it, unless there is a global change in college sports, football especially, we will never be more than a mid-level SEC program, with occasional glimpses near the top.

Would be quite content to be mid-level.

Watch out, people will accuse of settling for mediocrity.

If we were a solidly mid-tier program, aiming to be an upper tier program would be the logical next step.

From where we are now, an interim objective of being a mid-pack SEC team would be a great step in the right direction.
