Re: SEC 2022 schedule released
So only 6 home games next year, and another year for odd spacing of home games:
2 in early September: Elon 9/3 and Wake Forest 9/10
Then virtually a month before the ONE home game in October: Ole Miss 10/8
Then virtually another month before the next home game: S.C. 11/5
Before closing out the last two at home: Fla 11/19 and UT 11/26

Echoes of the past...the dreaded back-to-back Florida and Tennessee games return.

Re: SEC 2022 schedule released
I can't get past the Week 1 @ Hawaii game. It's like the Maui pre-season tournament in basketball, hopefully some 4 star recruits see this free trip and want to sign up. Oh, and there are a bunch of very difficult conference games to deal with but who cares after the Hawaii trip.

Let's hope that Hawaii is allowing fans at games by then. Right now they are the only FBS program not allowing fans in the stands.cc11316 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 11:56 pm I can't get past the Week 1 @ Hawaii game. But heck, Hawaii is a great place to visit, football game or not.

Re: SEC 2022 schedule released
It's never easy to project a year in advance, especially when recruiting and graduations/transfers have such an impact, but the 2022 schedule appears to have some positives. Bowl eligibility looks possible with a some breaks.

Re: SEC 2022 schedule released
What I find even stranger is that all of the non-conference games are at the beginning of the year.FayetteDore wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 7:26 pm So only 6 home games next year, and another year for odd spacing of home games:

Count me as a pessimist (or long-term Vanderbilt fan - same thing) in that it's like the first 4 games will be the opportunity to get 4 wins and look like bowl potential just before meeting the buzz saw of the SEC part of the schedule.

Forget that, how about Alabama, Ole Miss, and Georgia back to back to back.AuricGoldfinger wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 7:40 pm Echoes of the past...the dreaded back-to-back Florida and Tennessee games return.

Re: SEC 2022 schedule released
It all depends on how well UK, USC, UT, and Mizzou progress in the next year. 4-2 in the first half, and 2-4 in the second half would be the ticket to bowl eligibility. An extra win sprinkled in and CCL would be up for SEC Coach of the Year.Dorefrom88 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 9:28 amWhat I find even stranger is that all of the non-conference games are at the beginning of the year.FayetteDore wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 7:26 pm So only 6 home games next year, and another year for odd spacing of home games:

Re: SEC 2022 schedule released
With an expanded SEC and a potentially expanded and/or revamped conference schedule, that's a vision of the future.commadore wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 9:38 amForget that, how about Alabama, Ole Miss, and Georgia back to back to back.AuricGoldfinger wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 7:40 pm Echoes of the past...the dreaded back-to-back Florida and Tennessee games return.

Re: SEC 2022 schedule released
Maybe. I don’t see anything guaranteed, obviously. But I see potential for 3 wins in the first 4, 1 in the second 4, and 2 in the last 4.Doreknox wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 12:30 pmAll I saw was maybe 3 Ws.coachinwaiting wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 9:07 am It's never easy to project a year in advance, especially when recruiting and graduations/transfers have such an impact, but the 2022 schedule appears to have some positives.
