Vandy Bookstore Online Closing

Post by Georgiadore »

Anyone know why? And is the Barnes and Noble VU bookstore on West End still going to be operating?

It sounds like their contract with B&N and they're going with a different vendor, Follet.

FWIW, I was never that happy with the apparel selections at the bookstore, and it seemed the online offerings were more limited than in-store.

As someone who writes and self publishes local interest books, Follett was very easy to work with and Barnes & Noble was pretty awful.

Although I may be speaking slightly out of turn here, the B&N Vanderbilt bookstore has pretty much never carried "local" books such as local history and local interest.

I gave up on the B&N Vanderbilt bookstore about 5 years ago.

So from the point of view of local authors this is very good news.
