Not too hard to do due diligence- just open the newspaper! This doesn't surprise me at all. I was surprised Texas let him go- they are usually willing to give the accused the benefit of the doubt for longer than they did with him.

Always hopeful; rarely optimistic.

Re: Chris Beard emerges as frontrunner at Ole Miss
I live in a town outside Austin. I am so tired of reading in the local newspapers about how great the University of Texas teams are. They take all of the air out of sports. So, I dislike their teams and want them to lose. Against Tennessee it is a tossup.Foreverhopeful wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 2:29 pm Not too hard to do due diligence- just open the newspaper! Having written the above, I think that the school Texas tries to run an athletic program with integrity. I also think the statement that they are willing to give the accused the benefit of the doubt is incorrect.
As to their alums and hangers on, that is a different story. Too much money (often from oil and gas) chasing recruits and players.
Beard has put his house up for sale. At this time there is no indication that he has threatened a wrongful discharge or breach of contract lawsuit. He has not apologized for his physical actions against his fiancee. The termination has cost him something like $18-20 million. We shall see,

In the words of the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, “Everybody’s got a price.”

It's now official. Beard is the new head coach in Oxford.
