Stute and Wright shut down again offensively. QMB has 1 rebound so far. 35 to 21 rebounding advantage UK. We can't get our shooters open against a tough / quick D. Lose focus bad scheme on rebounding.

Lawrence, Dia, Manjon, and Lewis playing ok. Low turnovers. Good FT %

Caught KY on a great night for them and a horrible game for us. Wright and Stute pretty much useless.

Wish we could "bottle the good" and pull it out every game...

A year ago, Dia was playing against high school kids. Tonight he was 4-5 from three vs Kentucky.

Yes, he was "OK" alright.

32.7%. That’s all there is to say.

On the flip side, FT% looked great (91.7%)

I’ve not watched Kentucky a lot this year, but was this a good night for them? I was at the game and to me the Cats looked kind of sluggish.

Granted our guys looked a lot worse. But from sitting in 2H - it appeared this game could’ve been a lot worse. Disappointing outing after going on the road to Athens.

But after all it’s just one game. Onward and upward. Go Dores!!

Yes, he was "OK" alright.
But he has also been buried on the bench, and is only playing because both Robbins and Dort are injured. So the question is can he repeat this, and if he can, why hasn't he been playing more? Dia hit his threes tonight, but was stuffed by Tshiebwe on his inside attempts, and managed to grab only 1 rebound in 21 minutes. So he had a great night from three, but didn't give us much else. UK's front line went 13-17 from the floor and had 23 rebounds. Which is probably why despite leading the team in scoring and QMB being completely ineffective he only played 21 minutes. He was great if you only focus on three point shooting. Probably why you were so high on DeZonie last season - you have to look beyond shooting percentages to evaluate players or you will tend to get fooled by stats that do not provide a full picture.

BTW, I think CJS is probably right to not play Dia too much since he is trying to win games - at the moment Dia is similar to Terren Frank except he has hit is three point shots so far. He has a great frame and could very well develop into a very good player, but he hasn't shown the ability to use his frame to do traditional big men things - grab rebounds, block shots, score inside efficiently, draw fouls. Dort, OTOH, has grabbed rebounds in bunches in his limited minutes, blocks shots, and has scored well inside without really having any offense run for him. It is no shame to not be as talented as Dort, but it does show that Dia has a bit more work to do. It does seem unlikely that he will get drafted as a sophomore like Anderson or Toppin as you previously predicted. Thought it would be great if that happened.

Again Jason, provides an astute analysis, my conclusion is that Stack actually does know who our best players are.
