Sure would be nice to snag Lang or Nwoko (or both).

Nothing? Not even a comment in the negative? Wow.

Coen Carr is another recruit we've been after pretty heavily; https://247sports.com/player/coen-carr-46115688/ - took an official on June 15th and has been picking up more offers since (LSU, South Carolina). We'll see.

Given the Europe trip is coming up this week, I think news on the recruiting front is going to be expectedly slow/non-existent.

I come here several times a day in hopes of reading about an experienced and proven guard committing for the 2022-23 year, planning to board the plane with the rest of the team on August 6. Someone come through, please.

That would be nice, but seems unlikely at this point.

One would think the vast majority of players that fit that criteria have been swooped up. Couple that with the required academics and it's likely slim pickings.

Yup - the best hope is that Shelby is a stud and can shoot the three well as well as play some point or that either Lawrence has developed a reliable three point shot (unlikely) or Thomas has grown 3 inches and gained 30 lbs of muscle (also unlikely).

Most likely is that Shelby struggles early but if we are willing to have him work through it he could end up being pretty good come February - he has the talent. Basically, CJS is going to have to be willing to lose a couple of winnable games early to allow Shelby to grow and hope that Shelby's (and the team's) confidence is not hurt by a couple of stumbles. It does look like the preconference schedule is not too difficult however so we might not be hurt too bad by playing Shelby through any struggles. Best case scenario is that he is like a Brad Tinsley, Wade Baldwin or Riley LaChance and is ready and able to score double digits from the get go and hit 40% of his threes. Our Front court is good enough that Shelby playing like that would likely make us very good.

Note that the SEC is going to be good again this year. As good as our recruiting class is, we are likely to end up with the 8th or 9th best recruiting class this season - this class was the start of us being able to keep up with the better teams in the conference. We will have to combine this with better retention to be a perennial top team.

Isn't that why we picked up Manjon as a grad transfer, to help the young PG's ease into the role?

Not recruiting news, by my goodness Malik Dia has an NBA body. In photos I've seen online, he is every bit as big as Lee Dort.

I assumed we picked up Manjon to play and start at the point. At least one of the PG's we recruited will get a chance to play off guard this season, especially if they can shoot the ball. Our returning options at the off guard spot are not ideal.
