PT: OT: Cameron Report
Duke students surround both end zones and one side (the side without the team benches.) In other words three quarters of the court is rimmed by students who let their presence be known all during the game. It has to be one of the hardest and loudest venues to play in as an opposing team. (I was still there on faculty when Vanderbilt was there in 1983 when we lost 74-78 in a close game) By the way, we have played Duke 13 times and our record is 5-8 and we have lost the last 4 times we have played them.
After being there again and also recently at Memorial, I long for the good old days when we were competitive with the Blue Devils and when our gym had incredible student support. Maybe we will get there again.

I've never been to Cameron, but I was at Vandy in the late 80's for some incredible basketball and crowds. If we can produce a consistently winning team, I think we can get some mojo back in our home arena. Hope springs eternal, right?

But-but-but-but... nobody claimed it was a tyrannical conspiracy? How is THAT possible?charlestonalum wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:25 am Duke Students at Cameron 1.22.22.jpg
....every seat was taken and everyone was required to be vaccinated and to wear a mask the entire game. Compliance seemed to be 100%.

Probably because they treated their students like adults and let them into the games.MrMemorial wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 6:50 pmBut-but-but-but... nobody claimed it was a tyrannical conspiracy? Because they don't have a bunch of gullible Archie Bunkers for fans who would rather infect the world than get vaccinated and wear a mask. But at least your post was less than 2000 words for once.Jason94 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 1:36 pmProbably because they treated their students like adults and let them into the games.MrMemorial wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 6:50 pmBut-but-but-but... nobody claimed it was a tyrannical conspiracy? Amazing that you still don't get the point of my objection to VU's policy of not allowing students in to the game but selling their tickets to the general public. Try thinking in ways other than memes.MrMemorial wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 5:13 pmBecause they don't have a bunch of gullible Archie Bunkers for fans who would rather infect the world than get vaccinated and wear a mask.
