Since Pippin got laid out in a game earlier in the year...

Post by commadore »

He has regressed. He has been tentative at times, reckless at times, and can't shoot as well as he used to. His assists seem to have dropped, and his turnovers have definitely gone up.
Because of this, I doubt he will be in the top two rounds in the draft. If he isn't, look for him to transfer.

I think that SPJ will have a very good second half of the season, get drafted this year, and have a decent (if not spectacular) NBA career. I think we will get at least 3-4 league wins before the year is over, with him being the primary factor in those wins. I think he has the character, determination, and talent to make that happen. I'll be the first to admit that SPJ has NOT been the SEC player of the year thus far. He can do better, and I feel that he will (although the odds of him being deserving of, or voted as, the end of year SEC MVP are close to zero.

I'll take a wild guess that he will decide based on his draft prospects and maybe, just maybe, who is coming back next year.
If Robbins commits to another year, a few key returnees, and the incoming class, he could be looking at a much better VU team next year.
But if players of his profile are in demand this year, or a specific team that's a good fit shows interest, I don't think he will turn them down.
I don't know enough about pro ball to know what advantages the G league would offer him.
