How can...
Pippen be the SEC player of the year and Robbins be on the Jabbar watch list and we still be 14th in the conference? Do we have 2 really good players and 12 that suck or is this typical Vanderbilt bias?

I don't think it's bias per se as much as it is these factors:
* There's been massive turnover in rosters during the last few months. I expect a greater discrepancy between pre-season rankings and where teams actually finish at the end of the season than has ever occurred in college basketball.
* We've finished last or next to last in the SEC four consecutive seasons. That stink is hard to wash off. And Stackhouse is still a relatively unproven commodity as a college coach.
* Scotty Pippen Jr. is a name brand in a sea of mostly unfamiliar names.
