Schools the OVC could have added but didn't: UNA, Alabama A&M, Lipscomb (for hoops)
The OVC's days could be numbered.

Sounds like it.
The OVC has been slow in responding to the changing FCS conference landscape and it's going to lead to their demise. I wouldn't be surprised to see Murray State follow Belmont to the MVC for both basketball and the separate MVC football conference. There's been talk that the OVC may add Western Illinois (decent football program, terrible in basketball), but that's not going to save the conference. The remaining OVC members have few remaining choices.
