Of all of them leaving, I hate this one leaving the most. He was one of my favorites. Good luck to him.

Re: Max Evans into the transfer portal
One always wonders about grad school admissions and and availability of grad programs that fit the prospective student’s field of study. I too would love to see him back. One of the above issues may be in play, however.

Re: Max Evans into the transfer portal
That was my first thought. There may not be a Vandy graduate program that interests him or which he can get in to. Oh well, Max has progressed substantially under Stack. Wish him the best, but selfishly hopes he comes back.

Re: Max Evans into the transfer portal
Max just finished his FOURTH year as a 'Dore. So has he not used up all of his college eligibility? I thought the COVID EXTRA YEAR one-time NCAA ruling would allow a player to REMAIN at their current school if they wanted the extra year. Can anyone clarify for me?

It basically said this year didn't count. (note: could have been last year didn't count, but was one of them)vandylifer wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 5:39 pm Max just finished his FOURTH year as a 'Dore. The Covid break gives Max ...
... an extra year of eligibilty which he could use at Vanderbilt or elsewhere. If he stays at VU it doesn’t count against our scholarship limit.
But Vanderbilt is not required to keep him on the team, find a graduate degree program for him, possibly tell some other student his spot has been taken by a basketball player, and spend $100,000 on tuition, room, board, travel and other bball-related expenses for Max.
