Sneds off to an good start with a birdie on 1 and pars on 2-4. There are no cuts, so hopefully Brandt can stay in the top 30 all tournament.

He did very well at 6 under, one shot off the lead (T3 with 4 others).

Brandt had a terrific day on Thursday. Hit all fairways on the par 4s/5s - first time this year. Putted wonderfully, which he has done a lot recently. He is putting himself in a great position to not only go to East Lake for the FedEx championship next week, but to go there with a chance to make some noise. Keep it going, Brandt. Go Vandy!

You hate to see a bogey on a par 5, like he did today. He did finish one under, but he is in a tie for 15th now.

Sneds went four under on the back nine to shoot a bogey free five under. He moved up to a tie for sixth.

I watched some of the highlights on pgatour.com. Two of his birdies were from off the green (one in the bunker) on par 3s (and they were very long chips).

Brandt has had a good day so far with 4 birdies and no bogeys to stay in a tie for 6th. Right now he is projected at #19 in the FedEx standings, though he had 5 holes to go. At least he appears to be safely in the top 30.

He finished in a tie for 5th, earning $351,500 and is in 18th place in the FedEx cup standings. That means he will start the championship at 2 under par.
