Re: Malik Dia enters the portal
I am not trying to be a jerk or confrontational, I’m just legitimately curious if you or anyone can name a time a school has not renewed a players yearly. Scholarship? It seems to me that it may not be 4 years fully guaranteed, but I’m struggling to think of an instance where it has not been. Barri...

Re: Vanderbilt Education
Something that I don't think I've seen mentioned here is ... consider the degree and the career field. Peabody is great. As near as I can tell, it deserves its lofty ranking. As a classroom teacher, my Vandy degree has not opened up more job opportunities for me, nor has it led to better pay. Now if...

Re: NET prediction of Final Four
Ummm… it would appear that the NET rankings are remarkably on target, with Miami interestingly being the only outlier / Cinderella of the teams remaining. The NET says the other teams are doing exactly what their season performance would have predicted. I think I hate the NET… but I also have wante...

Re: Malik Dia enters the portal
Not unless the coach leave can a player leave the school. That should be the rule because it not fair to the school and us fans I can't go that far. That's just crazy. I'd support having that sit out for a year rule reestablished, but people make mistakes, and these guys are kids not professionals ...

Re: Portal need to be change to one year only
Honestly, I always really liked the rule that players had to sit out a year after transferring. For a D1 athlete, picking a school is a big decision. For *any* student, choosing to transfer is a big decision. The sitting out a rule year encouraged these students to take both of these decisions very ...

Re: Malik Dia enters the portal
This is disappointing. He showed a lot of potential. He and Dort were two that I was really hoping would step up next year.

Re: Malik Dia enters the portal
I would not surprise me, in view of Stackhouse's obviously strong relationship with his players, if these departures were tacitly encouraged or at minimum not discouraged by the staff. Stack obviously wants what is best for his team as well as his players. Honestly, I wonder exactly what Stack's re...

Re: Jordan Wright
Is his coming back contingent on him getting into grad school? He has already graduated, so he has to take hours to play. Anyone have any insight here? What a silly, outdated, unnecessary rule. Why? Seems silly to me that someone would be on the team if they weren't, you know, actually a student.

Re: My take on the UAB game........
Yeah. We brought our "B" game. They brought their "B+". If we had Liam available we definitely win. If we make a few more free throws (including front ends of 1-and-1s) and go 4-7 instead of 1-5 at the line, that might have been enough ... I know we lost by only 3, but don't forg...

Re: OT - NYT: A Fourth Alabama Player Was at a Deadly Shooting, in a Car Hit by Bullets
Bovine feces. Do you look into your back seat every time you get into the car? Hell, I could have a gatlin gun in my back seat right now and not know it. To say he did is either naive or downright lying to yourself. Right now the only thing in the bask seat of my car is the back seat. So ... yeah. ...

Re: OT - NYT: A Fourth Alabama Player Was at a Deadly Shooting, in a Car Hit by Bullets
"Regarding the text... Miller was driving when that text was sent to him. So he didn't see it until later, after he'd fled the scene of the shooting. And the gun was already in the back seat of the car he was driving, without him knowing that it had been hidden there." not to argue the ba...

Re: OT - NYT: A Fourth Alabama Player Was at a Deadly Shooting, in a Car Hit by Bullets
I don’t understand why when we question Alabama’s integrity because one of their players DID kill someone, people start debating Miller’s innocence. Honestly, because when it comes to Alabama's integrity, the Miller situation is what's most relevant. MIles (allegedly) shot and killed someone. He ha...

Re: Stute into the portal
However, the overall conclusion was that Stute was not happy with his role under Stack. That's such a catch all phrase. When push comes to shove, Stute wasn't playing well, was seeing his playing time go down, and with the emergence of Smith, the potential development of Dia, plus looking for rom t...

Re: Dort and Dia ?
I have been slightly surprised not to see them more ... either in the SECT when we had to play on consecutive days or in these NIT games after Stute left the team and opened up minutes for other guys. Definitely hope we keep the two of them though. Dort will be a beast at some point in the future .....

Re: Question
That said, there’s no reason at all for Auburn to be playing in Birmingham as 9 seed. That was a ridiculous oversight by the committee. Things like this have happened before two. The select the location for the pod based on the highest seed, and the other 3 teams in the pod follow. The committee ma...

SEC is having a good postseason.
We are in the "Eh 8" of the NIT. Alabama is the overall #1 seed and survived their 16 seed (which can't be said of all #1 seeds this year). UT is in the Sweet 16 after making Duke look like crap. UK is in the round of 32 for the first time in about 4 years. Missouri looks like they're abou...

Re: Should the NCAA Tournament be expanded?
The answer is not expanding the tournament but rather in eliminating all these automatic bids ! Take the top 64 teams and not just every Tom dick and Harry that wins an inferior conference championship or gets lucky and wins a conference championship tournament. Sounds like a way to have a really b...
