Re: Stackhouse

I'd say that you are massively underrating CKS based upon his being an ass. Regardless of whether his teams "underperformed" (which based upon his players sticking in the NBA is debatable), you cannot simply wave away making the tournament 5 of 6 seasons, multiple sweet 16's, a SEC champi...

Re: Roster Thoughts

I did note that the new coach of the PIstons got a $78.5 million contract. If someone offers CJS a nba job, he is gone and I don't blame him. That is serious FU money. Honestly, given what the NCAA has become, I don't know why anyone - and I do mean *ANYONE* - would continue to coach in the NCAA if...

Re: Stackhouse

On the flip side ... yeah, I wish he was able to do that while keeping some of his temper in check. And I can understand some people responding to some of his outbursts by just flat out not liking the guy. Not where I stand ... but I can see it. I don't mean to start an argument with you. I do want...

Re: Stackhouse

Can someone help me understand the negativity that so many people exhibit toward Stackhouse? So what is it? Personally, I like Stack a lot. He is absolutely no BS, no coach speak. He flat tells it like it is. Always levels with the fans and press about the team. He runs a tight ship. The kids all a...

Am I the only one that feels kind of "used" in this whole process? But, don't miss my overall feeling, which is that we'd be very happy for him to don the Black & Gold again next year.... It feels like when a pro athlete does a holdout to try to force the team to give them a better co...

Re: FWIW - Lawrence

So you admit we played poorly for the first two months (and even up until the Bama game where we got destroyed). then we picked it up over the last 14 games or so, but were not dominant during that stretch - we won a bunch of close games at home for the most part. I'm not following why the NET is s...

Well, that's why we'll have more transfers again next year. I just hope they're the "right transfers". This year I felt like we lost a few guys I sort of wanted to keep.

Room on the roster? Sure. Room on the court, not so much.

Re: Ven-Allen Lubin is a Commodore

I like this pickup a lot. But still concerned that 8 or 9 of the 13 players on this roster will be freshmen or sophomores. That will be tough… Doesn't bother me at all ... as long as we can get most of them to stick around to be sophomores or juniors the next year... I feel pretty good about the so...

Re: OK Back To Recruiting

What if Dort gets an injury next year like he did this year? Then what? Then we remember the time Vandy made the sweet 16 with Ross Neltner pretending he was a center. I love small lineups and think they can work like they did in 93 as well with Elder at PF, but both the 93 and 07 teams had all Ame...

Re: Last Year's Starting 5

I think Noah Shelby is a different case. He had potential and I think his father (he knows the sport) understood that some patience was going to be required, but Noah didn’t want to wait. C-USA has proven to be a pretty good basketball conference over the years. I don’t think Shelby’s transfer is a...

Re: Tyrin Lawrence

I don't know if anybody on this board read Moneyball or saw the movie. But at this stage of the portal and NIL, I find it quite difficult to believe that every coach understands where value exists, and that it simply is a given that the teams with the most NIL will win the tournament every season. ...

Re: Tyrin Lawrence

For clarification, I hope Stack is here a decade from now. I hope he has made 7,8 NCAAT appearances, and a couple Sweet 16s. Depending on how close we are to the tourney next spring MIGHT buy him another year. But if he has 0 invites thru 6 (possibly 5), i would be ready to move on. And i can't kee...

Re: The cycle of panic on Vandymania

What we have traded so far with this off-season is certainty for uncertainty. We will be less experienced. We seem that we will be smaller. We will need freshmen and/or transfers to make immediate impacts. We will also be well coached. With a coach whose teams get better throughout the season. And w...

Well, for the good of the team I hope he does come back, but even if he averages 50 a game, he will never be my favorite player because of this crap he has pulled. Having said that, I'm sure he will loose sleep over it. If he comes back and only averages 30 per game, all is forgiven. I would love t...

I don't have time for a long post, but I don't need to "sugar coat" that because I flat out reject the premise.
