Re: Interesting Observation on that school to the East
The difference in Thomas and Gilbert is simple: Gilbert immediately turned to the Wright State dugout and started mouthing. Being that he is a lefty, and hit the ball to RF, he turned all the way back around before starting his prance to stare into the 3B dugout. Thomas, a righty, pulled the ball do...

Re: TCU's Jim Schlossnagle hired at A&M
Big move. Had to wait until they were eliminated, so there must have been a handshake agreement in place. With little movement on the LSU side, will be interesting to see if they make an announcement soon. If not, they're target is likely still playing. There were rumors of O'Sullivan to LSU...and t...

Re: Projected starters
Thomas should be fine ... A lot of them had a nagging this or that. I will revise my "opinion" on the probable starters given everyone is healthy. Again this will change due to unforeseen injuries , poor performance , grades, whatever the reason. Starting Pitching Rocker Hickman Eder Reli...

Re: Tyler Beede hot in the month of July
The difference is that the Giants had bought into too much sabermetrics regarding Beede. For two years they tried to force him into throwing sinkers which he hadn't done to that point. The hope was that it would help him be effective in Colorado and Arizona. Problem is, that he couldn't control it, ...

Re: Martin to CF?
Malcom and Malloy will both push for playing time on the IF. Gonzalez will as well. Those 3 are probably your corner infielders and DH, in some mixture. Ray is not a certainty at 2B. With the incoming class and development of last year's class over their first summer, we simply have too much MIF tal...

Re: DeMarco
Signed with Yankees this afternoon. Not doubting you, but could you list a site for that? It isn't yet on draft tracker and I can't find it anywhere. Just found an instagram picture of him sitting at a table in a NYY uni signing a contract. Still, I'd like to know how much. I'm betting it was a pre...

Re: Next Year's Lineup to repeat
Love this discussion. It's always fun. Not much to add on pitchers except I think Becker separates himself as midweek starter. Huge potential. Rocker-Hickman-Leiter seems about as locked in as a weekend rotation can be, though Leiter may ease into the weekend role. As for the lineup, it is made with...

Re: Hitting struggles
Or... maybe... we’re in the CWS with the 7 other best pitching staffs in the country and it’s just harder to hit. But are these pitching staffs any better than what our SEC competition has? Vandy is facing really good starters in this CWS, but they have been facing this level of pitcher all year lo...

Re: G.O.A.T.?
Not sure about teams of the 70s and 80s as I didn't really pay attention to college baseball until I was there in the 90s. But this is the best SEC team I have seen. This team was 3 bullpen meltdowns (Austin Peay, Game #2 against A&M, and Game #3 against Arkansas) from being 62-9, which is crazy...

Actually, there are a lot of grounds. The easiest is discrimination. Other people can make all the noise they want, but he cannot. He isn't using artificial noise makers. You may yell and scream and even say things I don't like. Should they throw you out. But over all, the one no one has mentioned,...

Re: "Vandy whistler says he was told to stop whistling or be ejected"
Well, I AM a lawyer and I'd take his case in a heartbeat. On what grounds? I'm not smarting off. I'm genuinely curious. Actually, there are a lot of grounds. The easiest is discrimination. Re: "Vandy whistler says he was told to stop whistling or be ejected"
Your claim Preacher lied may well constitute libel by you against him, and I'm going to be certain to point out your comment to him. Check with your office mates about that. But regarding what he could sue for, he could claim they harmed his reputation, which they have, because this has become a na...

Re: "Vandy whistler says he was told to stop whistling or be ejected"
So are you a lawyer? Because Preacher Franklin was advised by an actually attorney that he could sue if they eject him. And sure you can sue anyone for practically anything, but an attorney would hardly offer that advice if he didn't think Preacher had a legal leg to stand on. Like I said, a bunch ...

Re: "Vandy whistler says he was told to stop whistling or be ejected"
I'm not a fan of the whistlers, but I'm not losing my mind over them like some people on this thread. Ever hear of freedom of expression, folks? Last time I checked, this is still the US of A, and we have certain freedoms here. If a man can't whistle whenever he freaking wants at a freaking sportin...

Re: "Vandy whistler says he was told to stop whistling or be ejected"
This whole debate has raged too long. Yes, they are self-promoting. Yes, it is about them and not the team. Yes, it gives us an unnecessary bad reputation as a fanbase and program. And yes, it is very distracting and shrill when watching on TV to the point that I (and many others) mute the TV and l...

Re: Who do you start in game 1 against Louisville?
Fellows should start. Rocker threw 130+ pitches on Saturday. Let him rest. Fellows had a shorter outing. On a side note, Fellows was only ineffective against Duke because the umpire's zone was extremely tight...but it was tight for both teams so it's hard to be upset with him. It took away the 2-sea...
