Re: Vanderbilt-Hawaii game thread

4th and 1 and we go fast. And stub our toe.

Going fast is now 0 for 3 tonight. When everything else is working - don’t do what isn’t working.

Re: Vanderbilt-Hawaii game thread

McGowan having a highlight reel half.

We got behind the chains at second and 15 - but still got the first down. That was encouraging.

Re: Vanderbilt-Hawaii game thread

Overly aggressive on 4th down. Brought a pass rush - and it really got stoned.

Meanwhile, needed coverage on a 4th down play.

Hawaii’s offense is not bad - but our coverage has to be better.

Re: Vanderbilt-Hawaii game thread

I didn’t like going for 2.

It negated momentum. There was no need for it.

And now we are down 1.

Re: YES, IT'S TIME! The 19th annual VandyMania 'Predict the Season' Contest!!

1) hope springs eternal: six. OC creativity will decide it. All pocket passes and run between the hashes will not do it. Misdirection, throws to backs, and open up the field makes even more wins possible. The schedule is not terrible. 2) Georgia and Alabama 3) Daniels and McKinstry (whose punt retur...

we seem to have made believers of the Yankees

In recent years, the Yanks have certainly focused on VandyBoys or Vandy commits in the early rounds. Volpe, their current ss, was a commit. Spencer Jones is tearing it up in the minors. Lombard is the latest Yankee first-rounder with strong Vandy ties. Good for the brand, I guess. I do wish more of ...

Re: Big transfer pickup #2: IF Jayden Davis from Samford

This looks like a very solid pick-up.

There was a lot of talk that RJ might move to the outfield. I’m guessing this confirms it? But we’ll see.

This transfer had a verrry lengthy hitting streak to close the season. Cookeville native. Positive development.

Re: Vandy in the portal

Burns noted he had come to the CWS as a Vandy fan years ago in an interview. There are strong rumors about this.

He is a truly great pitcher. I’m almost afraid to hope. This would be a massive pickup.

Can LSU recover from this tomorrow????

A meltdown of epic proportions.

Now 12-3 in the 6th. And LSU is really kicking the ball all over the field.

Hard to bounce back from this…

Re: LSU looking shellshocked midly

Rarely have I seen a game turn on a dime like this one.

Ump continues to make life miserable for pitchers.

LSU fielding is also contributing to the meltdown.

Re: Florida looking shellshocked early

But 6 runs in the third turn things in a hurry.

I give Florida credit. They looked left for dead.

Good teams pull out of a death spiral. They did.

The wind is blowing out. I think it will take double digits to win this one.

Florida looking shellshocked early

“It isn’t their day.”

Ump really screwing Florida pitcher. If I were rooting for Florida - I’d be very upset.

After 2 innings, they are lucky to only be down 3-1. Not the way you want to start an elimination game.

Re: Roanoke

Thanks. That’s a really good point! That same poster noted that ORU took 22 walks in Eugene. They beat Oregon by being patient at the plate. What is hurting our pitchers is the new strike zone means if you identify a slider, don’t swing. People are identifying them and umps aren’t giving edges. We h...
