Re: Still work to do ... for the NIT
Xavier won the NIT last year but they had to go through a 2 point home win against the Dores in the quarterfinals first. Amazing so many are still holding out for the NCAAs when this team will be very blessed to just make the NIT. Yes, it's more games, more practice and perhaps a last chance at seei...

Still work to do ... for the NIT
I know technically a team can be invited to the NIT with an even or losing record but I don't think that will happen this year as there are just too many teams in contention after the NCAA makes their selections. I think it's pretty safe to say the NCAA bid is a bit of a pipe dream unless they sweep...

Re: is it possible….
I want to see that focused but loose player that we saw in the 2nd half against Arkansas. THAT GUY looked unstoppable along with Robbins. He has a significant place on this team and can help facilitate a late season run if he's on his game.

Re: Big trouble for Alabama's Brandon Miller from January incident
Regardless of what you think of the Ameican justice system, Miller does have the presumption of innocence and nothing I have read states he is even going to be charged. The entire situation seems like it could have easily been avoided. The way the story is portrayed these Alabama athletes are very a...

Re: ESPN ANALYTICS MATCHUP PREDICTOR
I would think a Vandy -4 @ LSU sounds about right. Honestly, though I'm not willing to put money on any Vandy game as you just never know. I pray Robbins can stay on the floor, Manjon can continue to push and dish, Lawrence confidence continues to grow and Stute's 3's start to fall. If that happens,...

Re: And here's your first bracketologist with Vandy in first four out
I would argue that the emergence of Robbins as one of the best bigs in America has been the difference. When he plays well, Vandy usually wins. Stack is just a beneficiary but he did recruit him so he deserves that credit. I'm just saying these conversations are much different if Robbins hadn't come...

Re: And here's your first bracketologist with Vandy in first four out
Two games a week is the theme. Just a couple of weeks ago, we were looking at 11-12 (4-6 SEC) where the NIT looked kind of unlikely to a week later with the UT/@Fla wins where 13-12 (6-6 SEC) made the NIT a viable option. Finally this week with the @SC/Aub wins (15-12 8-6 SEC) it really put the NIT ...

Re: Bruce Pearl postgame comments
I will say I love Pearl's passion and thought it was cool when he and Wright slapped hands as Wright walked past him getting ready to inbound the ball. We shall see if these two teams get to meet again in the SEC-T. No issues with Pearl other than the whole cheating thing.

Let's not turn this great moment and 5 game win streak into a criticism of Vandy fans. This is the most awesome it has felt in 10 years or so to be a Vandy basketball supporter.

Re: the liam robbins....
I love these kind of topics. I know it's debatable but for the sake of argument, I'm thinking of bigs as being 6'10" and above though there have been alot of 6'8" - 6'9" guys who qualify but there are so many it would make the list much longer. Since 1980, I'm thinking the elites (in ...

Re: Florida Win and Tournament hopes
Interesting how much a great week of games makes a difference. I started a thread last week at this time about "What is the ceiling now?" I think the consensus was NIT but even that is unlikely looking at the next 8 games (6 now). I think these last 2 games definitely made the NIT a much m...

Re: CJS talks about benching players in Tuesday's loss
My father was a long time coach at a local Nashville HS and he had this exact same attitude. It was the my way or the highway approach and I witnessed it backfire a few times but over the course of his 26 years in coaching, he was pretty successful and was inducted in the Metro Basketball HOF. It's ...

Re: last four inbounds plays
The SEC refs suck messages should be pinned somewhere so we don't have 100 of these threads every season. It's kind of the DRY principal (Do Not Repeat Yourself). Oh and they do but until we allow technology to assist in a more proactive way, this will always be the case. They're human and fallible.

Re: Thomas knows someone-Special
Thomas hasn't done anything wrong but he was recruited by teams like UMass and Rice as a 2 star or low 3 star as I recall. He seems to be a guy that should be playing 5 minutes or less a game or potentially in times where foul trouble or injury force additional minutes. One poster said it correctly ...

What is the ceiling now
Ok, we sit here today at 11-12 (4-6 in the SEC) with a month to go and 8 games remaining on the schedule. VU still has UT, UK, Aub, Fla 2x as well as some more winnable games with SC, LSU and MSU with most of the roster healthy ( exceptions Wright and Dort). I think at best this team can win 4 of th...

Re: So Mike White is also on the list …
So would you rather: a). Have officials with a shorter fuse but call T's consistently when there is a textbook reason to do so? or b). Have officials with a longer fuse, who let coaches do their thing including walking out of the boxes, a couple feet onto the floor and plea for every call and react ...

Re: Post-game handshakes
So ... something like a fightclub in the locker room to get these guys in the right state of mind? (it's a joke ya'll). Maybe Stack should help with the football team so the'll have an edge to them as well. I really enjoyed this toughened version of the team. Wright, Robbins and Lawrence have never ...

I nominate Ray Mears. Matt Walsh Jaokim Noah Renaldo Balkman I could watch Stallings play keep away with Joakim Noah all day long.   That was hilarious, a great moment indeed. I know Mears was probably the most hated guy to walk through Memorial but Dale Brown, Pitino and Calipari s...

What should have happened?
That 2nd half was awesome and has me wanting to get back to Memorial for good times again. This morning, I woke up and couldn't get that fiasco that happened at the end of the first half off my mind. I mean I officiated high school for years and I can't understand for the life of my why Black wasn't...
