Re: Saw my first game at Memorial Gym 50 years ago tonight
I can remember going to my first VU Basketball game, but I can't remember when it was. I just remember Thorpe Weber was playing and he was the big man on campus at the time.

Re: Military Bowl...Duke vs. UCF
VUDU makes some good points, although I would argue that some of the bowl games are not "rewards" for the players on teams that go 6-6 or 5-7, but rather "Sentences" that they have to serve during the holiday season when they would rather be at home. I think what is no doubt goin...

Military Bowl...Duke vs. UCF
A whopping crowd of 17,974 in Annapolis Maryland watch the Dukies roll over Gus Malzahn and the Knights 30-13 in the Military Bowl...I wonder what some of these bowls are thinking when they can't draw 18,000 to a bowl game? The NCAA should tighten up on Bowl qualifications when the new contracts are...

Spending all that money and time, just to get waxed like Florida did today in the Las Vegas Bowl?
They looked like they would rather be anywhere else but there.

I may have to recalibrate back down to 10 wins this season. This is becoming dangerously close to Bryce Drew 2.0

You all have made great points, so I’m a little more optimistic. I’ll go with Dallasdore and say we’ll get to 13 wins this year.

to the Sherwin Williams Watchin’ Paint Dry Bowl.
That’s how exciting Iowa-KY will be.
Poor Scott Ramsey got scraps from the SEC-Big Ten offices on this matchup.

Congratulations to the Tulane Green Wave
It’s been many years since the Green Wave have tasted Football success. They used to be a member of the SEC and were a regular opponent of ours. They’ve been to hell and back athletically. Hurricane Katrina almost did them in. But today, in front of 30,000 screaming fans in New Orleans, they got rev...

When the 9 game schedule with no divisions rolls out
We should appeal to the SEC to put us in the regular rotation with all the other SEC schools and decouple us from playing Tennessee every year on the last weekend. It is simply a no win situation for Vanderbilt. I would rather get drilled by Alabama, Texas, LSU, GA.etc. at Dudley when students are g...

Just no fight in them tonight. Confidence level is back to Bama-Ole Miss-Ga level. It’s amazing how fast it can all evaporate.

Re: Commodore Hour 11/21 interviews Clark Lea, Barton Simmons
I could listen to Barton Simmons all day long. That was a great story about C J Taylor. Barton had to talk him out of going to Arkansas St. The hugged each other after the game Saturday. I think the mad recruiting scientist will accelerate our trip to the promised land of competitiveness and respect...

I’m happy for Clark..
He’s poured his heart and soul into trying to rebuild this program and change the culture.
He’s getting buy in from the players who’ve stuck it out. He needed to be rewarded.
I predicted 4 wins before the season, but I thought we’d beat Missouri, not KY.
Hip Hip Hooray for the Clark & the Dores!!

It’s a good thing Lipscomb decided to move up in classification next season where they will get to play the MBA’s and Brentwood Academy’s on a weekly bases. It does Lipscomb no good to ring up 70+ points every week on these teams in the lower division. Trent Dilfer recruits kids nationally to come t...

AJ should begin the process of getting ready for NEXT season. If I were his parents, he would have been shut down after the Missouri game. The days of playing around with concussions are over. They are lawsuits waiting to happen.

SMU beat Houston last night 77-63 in a record setting game. The SMU QB threw NINE TD passes and the Houston QB threw SEVEN Touchdown strikes. (Jim McMahon used to do this regularly at BYU.)
We have very little defense, we could, at least, develop a high scoring offense to make us fun to watch.

Re: Not enough talent to compete in SEC simple as that
That is obvious. I sit in the first couple of rows on the Vandy side and there are 20-30 players down there that have no business suiting up for an SEC game. I’m not talking about the kickers/punters either. And I’m not talking about the running backs. It’s the linemen, linebackers that have me conc...

Re: OT: KSU 35 OSU 0 Half
A lineman we are recruiting, Devin Vass, had narrowed it down to us, Missouri and Kansas State, committed to K-State on his visit last weekend when they pummeled Oklahoma State. Hard to argue with that decision. The Kansas State program is way ahead of us in talent, facilities, organization as well ...
