Re: Roster Thoughts

Smith good. I like him at SF and Lubin at PF. Staaaartas: PG - Manjon SG - Lawrence SF - Smith/Taylor PF - Lubin/Smith C - Kamateros/Dort probably will be a mix of those at starting 5. If Lubin turns out to be the guy in the highlights and Colin Smith picks it up from last year we are a tournament ...

Re: Roster Thoughts

How 'bout an 'adda-boy' to Coach Stackhouse. We were all considering hara-kiri after the portal opened, and now we're clearly in better shape. I'm absolutely grateful and honored to have Mr. Stackhouse as our coach. The guy gives everything he has. Stackhouse has played things masterfully, but I wa...

Re: Tyrin is OFFICIALLY back

My son transferred from one college to the other, and there weren't stories in the paper about it. No one cares when a biosystems engineering student transfers, even though I understand they make decent money. Did he ever run into a student name BethAnne Rhozhaski? Man you are 1000% committed to ma...

Re: He’s Back!

I get the frustration but I can also understand Lawrence’s perspective. As someone else stated, this could serve as a wake up call to VU that they need to step up their NIL funding if they want to remain competitive. It's very possible that Lawrence may have done VU a great service in this way. On ...

Roster Thoughts

With Lawrence back, our roster going into next season looks like this (to my understanding): PG - Manjon, Lewis, West SG - Lawrence, Taylor, Rivera-Torres SF - Roberts, Presley, Smith PF - Lubin C - Kamateros, Dort, Lang Note the positions are just what is listed at verbalcommits, since I don't thin...

Re: He’s Back!

Don’t engage with the troll. Not trolling. Just speaking facts. The only reason everybody is freaking out is because we lost 10 other players over the years that would have been better had they stayed or we recruited better on our misses. players like tyrin are a dime a dozen 3 years in now with th...

Re: He’s Back!

Personally, I hope he goes somewhere else after all this. He's not THAT good. This is a horrible take. Without Lawrence, we have NIT level talent. With him we should make the tournament. Why would you not want to have someone who helps the team make the touranment? Yah like dude is just tryna negot...

Re: Head spinning, please reorient

I think we have a perception of Stack's teams being defensive oriented, but that just hasn't been the case. We finished last year ranked #247 in adjusted defensive efficiency. The year before was #78 and the year prior #241. Hardly a stout defensive ranking when all is said and done. Granted the la...

Given who our coach is, I think we will end up fairly stout on defense. I think we have a perception of Stack's teams being defensive oriented, but that just hasn't been the case. Re: FWIW - Lawrence

So you admit we played poorly for the first two months (and even up until the Bama game where we got destroyed). then we picked it up over the last 14 games or so, but were not dominant during that stretch - we won a bunch of close games at home for the most part. I'm not following why the NET is s...

Re: FWIW - Lawrence

Never said VU played well in November and December. But they played a more challenging OOC schedule (98, according to kenpom) than several SEC teams that made the cut ahead of them who I argue shouldn’t have (particularly MSU with their #277 OOC schedule, head-to-head loss, and 4 fewer SEC wins). I...

Re: FWIW - Lawrence

No reason not to schedule easier. The selection committee confirmed that this year. Beating cupcakes was more important than playing a reasonably challenging OOC schedule. That is not what they confirmed. What they confirmed is that how you play in November and December matters as much as how you a...

We also need to schedule a few more cupcakes to give freshmen playing time. Last year’s schedule had a lot of competitive opponents - and relatively few “breathers” & one of the breathers beat us & several others almost beat us… I hope we will have a couple of cakewalks early to allow young...

https://247sports.com/PlayerInstitution/Tyrin-Lawrence-at-Vanderbilt-254115/CurrentTransferInstitutionPredictions/ This would be the topper to what could turn out to be an excellent offseason. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iCmFc4I2cU Around the 41 minute mark or so they get into NIL and Lawrence. Interesting that their perception of the amount of NIL money available is wildly different than what the perception of this board is. Luke Wyatt, a formed VUAD employee notes that he thinks th...

Re: FWIW - Lawrence

If/when Lawrence returns I would say we improved through the portal. We lost some fan favorites in QMB and Jordan Wright but we should get a lot more production in our new bigs. Evan Taylor should certainly shoot the ball better than Stute or Trey this season. Our biggest loss was Liam who ran out ...
