Re: Vanderbilt at Texas A&M, 2-10-22, 7:00

One bright spot is that we were 16 of 19 from the FT line. I hope we can keep that up!

Re: Vanderbilt at Texas A&M, 2-10-22, 7:00

We keep hanging around, which is better than falling off a cliff, but we just can't seem to put together a solid run to come back. 53-44 at the end of the 3rd.

Re: Vanderbilt at Texas A&M, 2-10-22, 7:00

We have regressed…… When did we get so bad offensively? I think it's probably a function of facing better defenses. Plus, with so much of the season behind us, there's been plenty of time for them to work up scouts. It's not like we have a ton of offensive options to pull out when defenses become m...

Well-deserved! Congratulations to her! Having two different freshmen win FOW honors is definitely a good sign for the future!

Re: Alabama at Vanderbilt, 2-6-22, 2:00

Boy, that was a tough loss. I bet everybody involved is going to have trouble with the woulda coulda shoulda "Oh, if only I had _____", which surely will include a lot of "made those free throws" to fill in the blanks, I thought they showed a lot of toughness to hang in for 40 mi...

So far, tight game with 1-point leads flip-flopping often.

New guys at Vanderbilt, summer 2004

Thinking about Shan Foster's jersey retirement tomorrow, I remembered an old photo from the summer of 2004 and thought you all might enjoy it.

Re: Vanderbilt at Georgia, 2-3-22, 6:00

Too bad that we couldn't keep it up the entire game, but I'm pleased that we were able to close the door several times in the second half when Georgia threatened to pull away. We weren't able to do it the last time when Georgia finally managed to stretch their lead well into the 4th, but overall, I'...

Re: Auburn Postgame Comments

Just love these kids/team - they look confident in what they are doing or at least what supposed to do, they battle for each other, they seem to trust the coaches to help them out; cant say enough about J Cambridge & her leadership, the confidence of B Alexander, the ongoing improvements of the...

Re: Auburn at Vanderbilt, 1-30-22, 2:00

Obviously TOs are an issue. But also this game followed a pattern of earlier games, where we have a decent first half, but a bit downhill in the second half. No doubt that's something that they'll work on, but I think it's a good thing that we had such a great first half. Playing time was interesti...

Re: Auburn at Vanderbilt, 1-30-22, 2:00

Ordinarily I'd feel pretty good leading by 13 with 3 minutes left, but after having been up by 20+ earlier, it's making me a little nervous now.

Re: Auburn at Vanderbilt, 1-30-22, 2:00

Other than the TOs, I can't think of anything to criticize in that half. I'm trying to figure out Auburn beat UT. Before that game, the Tigers were 1-7, and given today's game so far (knock on wood) that's easy to believe. But then they beat Tennessee. Go figure.

Re: Kentucky at Vanderbilt, 1-27-22, 7:00

She is so deserving, but many times it will go to”bigs” who blocks shots. I believe steals are even more valuable as they usually lead to fast break points, while blocks may go out of bounds or are recovered by the shooter’s teammate. Anyone who watches Jordan play can see she has a unique ability ...

Re: Kentucky at Vanderbilt, 1-27-22, 7:00

One of the great stats for the first half -- UK 4 assists to 16 TOs, VU 8 assists to 4!!!!!!!! TOs.

That said, there have been some other games recently that seemed winnable at the half, but then things went south. Time to keep the pressure on and take away a W this time.

Re: Fostering Greatness

Very minor edit: Wyatt was denied entrance because the MNDC Fire Chief had closed the doors due to full capacity. IIRC, except for the preseason poll, VU or UT was #1 the remaining weeks. Will this ever be a top 25 program again? To answer your last question -- I think so! I don't think it was nece...
