Re: Reason for optimism
agree - hope we are not the "development team" for the elite This is a fear at every program, arguably a greater concern at the Bamas and Clemsons of the world who have second stringers who could be first stringers at some other aspiring team that has a big NIL bankroll beckoning. I can a...

Re: We should have hired an offense-oriented coach
My biggest concern about the future of Vandy football is our reluctance to use the transfer portal. We also won't have as much access to NIL contracts either. Don et al, We know that "the reluctance" is structural at Vanderbilt and like institutions. It is well documented and known that m...

Re: Reason for optimism
Color me pessimistic. I fear we lose him in the off-season when the big boys take notice. There seems to be no oversight anymore when it comes to roster tampering. And Swann is a desirable candidate for big time programs. Really hope I’m unnecessarily paranoid. I’ve just come to expect the worst wh...

Re: TENNESSEE FINED FOR VIOLATION OF ACCESS TO COMPETITION AREA POLICY
the deplorable behavior I referred to relates to the many other actions not the storming of the field because they finally won after over a decade of losing to Bama. Deplorable, for example, is raining bottles on the field with an unfavorable referee call (the kind we get all the time from SEC refs)...

Re: TENNESSEE FINED FOR VIOLATION OF ACCESS TO COMPETITION AREA POLICY
I won't argue that the UT band displays good sportsmanship though I am surprised that they still show up after having to flee the rain of water bottles and more laughable missiles heaved by the good sports in the stands leading their lives of loud desperation last year at the Ole Miss game. I agree...

Re: TENNESSEE FINED FOR VIOLATION OF ACCESS TO COMPETITION AREA POLICY
They lead the conference in bad sportsmanship, everything from ketchup bottles to human beings thrown or running on the field. Things could be ugly at Dudley later this season: by ugly I mean all the orange in our stadium. I suspect most Vanderbilt fans will keep their distance from the unruly horde...

Re: Replay?
It was on this morning and as said above will be on several times during week. Just look at SEC network schedule. The defense was best (for us) in 3rd quarter - offense struggled whole game.

Re: I don’t like the way the schedule was made this year
I would love to know why anyone thinks we are going to lose a ton of guys, who are contributing, to the portal. And that is my caveat, who are contributing. Probably should add, and are expected to contribute next year. I wasn't surprised by the losses last year, in CCL's first year, given how he h...

Re: Vanderbilt-Georgia thread
Lea is improving our recruiting, I believe, but he started without enough hosses. I believe that within a few years we will be competing against many SEC teams, but not Bama or GA. I hope you’re correct. However, I worry that even with an uptick in recruiting on the front end, player retention may ...

Re: Where will Our SEC W come from?
Yesterday: Florida lost at home to LSU UK beat State at home UT outgunned Bama at home SC and Mo were off Looks to me like SC and Florida at home are our best chance of a win and with a lot of luck at Mo. Other games very unlikely wins. Looking very hard to get a conference win this year, but that i...

Re: We should have hired an offense-oriented coach
Lea (not Lee) is our coach and we just lost to a Georgia team coached by a defensive guy: it comes down to talent on the field - not background specialty of the coach.

Re: A cardinal sin- rooting for UT(k)
No, not me - I want Bama and have always pulled for them except vs us. Saban is a great coach as was Bear and their fans are far less obnoxious than UT- maybe because they are accustomed to winning wheras UT - not so much.
