Re: Mike wright

Swann didn't give up 55 points. Quite true, although failure to get first downs gave Alabama more possessions. Either way, we need faster DBs with the confidence to cover WRs without giving them an 8-yard cushion. THAT was what made the game so easy for Alabama. That and the fact that they're Alaba...

Re: Mike wright

We weren't going to beat Alabama with trick plays.

I think AJS and MW can exist in the same backfield, but why show that package against Alabama? It seemed like the more out of reach the game got, the more vanilla the offense became. Why go deep into the playbook at that point?

They're insufferable today and will be until their long-overdue big orange meltdown.

Re: Vanderbilt-Alabama game thread

Say what you want about this game, but one thing I noticed was that we didn't beat ourselves.

DBs played with too much cushion and play calling on O was a real head scratcher at times... But we weren't out there making stupid mistakes. Alabama is just a much better team.

Thanks!

I-59 is a desolate stretch of road, especially at night. The return trip will be driven on coffee and loud music

Going to T-town!

Thanks to the generosity of a good friend who is also in Alabama season ticket holder, my wife and I just found out we will be attending tonight's game. This will be my first game at Bryant-Denny stadium, in fact, my first trip to Tuscaloosa. Not only are we attending the game, but we get to spend t...

As much as I'd like that, a TO or 2 won't upset me too badly.

It looks like Alabama has thrown 3 INT and only picked one though

Things I'd like to see against U of A

- A passing TD (I saw a graphic yesterday that said Alabama and Kentucky are the only 2 teams in FBS who have yet to surrender a passing TD) - Alabama's punter on the field while the first teamers are still in the game - No unforced penalties - No bonehead penalties - No VU players being carted off ...

Re: Clark Lea on 102.5: "We'd be crazy" not to find a way to use Mike Wright

Seems you years ago, one of the ivy League schools ran an offense that featured three quarterbacks in the backfield at once. I think we should have an entire package of plays, with as many as 20 snaps in a game, where both QBs are in the backfield. As long as they have time to run whatever razzle da...

Re: IMO, 28-14 was the best thing that could happen,

I can't help but remember 2017, when VU started 4-0 including a victory over Kansas State. Then there the Lealo-fueled beatdown at the hands of Alabama and the team never quite recovered. The next 3 games are a veritable murderer's row and the fans know it. Will the team come out of it healthy and a...

Re: Brutal blow to Class of 2022--RB Maurice Edwards and LB Daniel Martin off the team

I remember a VU LB (Bradford) that went to the Titans as an UDFA.

He had a training camp rules infraction (curfew or unauthorized visitor or something) and was sent packing immediately.

I'm sure the expectations were made clear. They were not met.

I do not have expanded cable either, but I know there have been times when I have found links where I could stream various games online.

I would hate to have to wait until that close to the game to do so, but it might be what I'm forced to do.

Re: Vote for Stadium Public Announcer

The first guy has the gravelly, guttural sound that annoys some people. The other two have good voices but their recordings sound like they are doing a radio spot, not doing p.a. announcing. But they may do fine once in the stadium. This is exactly what I was coming on to say. I did not like the fi...
