Re: Third Georgia Game Thread

I had forgotten how it feels to feel a little bit sorry for the other team. What a great win for our guys.

Re: CJS offers help for UT player whose home burned

I am impressed with Stack as a person and as a coach, and, more importantly, so are our players.

Re: At least our offense was a lot better than the 1st game

Good review, as always. That last 40 seconds was a heartbreaking as anything I've experienced with Vandy basketball. We were doing SO WELL- and then.... I know the team is devastated by what happened. I agree, it all got too fast for them and we lost our poise. Thank God for Trey Thomas and his good...

Re: NIT poll

I think it would be important to the players (and Stack) this year and would validate the improvement that we've seen. I would like to see it happen.

Re: Former VU player Matt Ryan signed to a contract by Boston, which means...

I usually remember most of our players, but Matt Ryan barely stuck with me. Good for him, though!

Re: Loss was about as expected

Good analysis. Agree- turnovers and the absence of Chatman and Mann really hurt. With Chatman in there the other team's defense really has to do some serious work. Robbins did not have a great game. A win would have been wonderful, but as Jason noted, we needed to have played really well- and we did...

That's correct about the final play. I think Chatman was very, very badly needed last night- but alas.....

Re: Have to play our best players

Stack said he wanted QMB in there since he's the best defender. I guess they could have both been in, but I, too, will defer to Coach. I'm all in. Wright had a bad game and unfortunate miss at the very end. It was a tough loss.

Re: aTm game thread

I thought A & M was decent and certainly gave us a game. Robbins was great down the stretch. He has improved every game. QMB did a good job, too. Pippen is really, really good- but I think he needs another college year.

I am pretty sure they will both return. I thought I saw Mann with the practice shirt on all through the game, so it probably was the knee.

Re: UT Game

It was going to take pretty much perfect playing for us to win- and we didn't do that. Tennessee is good, and Robbins is just not ready yet. He's big and we need him- but he is so rusty. He looks like early Festus. It will improve. The foul called on QMB was ridiculous, as were some of the others. P...

Re: coach stack

I think Stack is our guy and I hope he stays for a while. The players buy in, are playing tough, and he IS candid in his post game comments. No excuses, either. I like what I'm seeing. Of course we all want to win more, and I think it will come.

Re: Vandy-Georgia

There are a couple of incentives for the students to attend- tshirts and the half court shot lottery. Here's hoping.

I hope we see the "whoosh" after those 3 point shots. I think we'll win, but I don't think by 10. Even the beat writer predicts a win.

Re: One Possession

This is an excellent thread. I DO think the team has bonded and has chemistry, but I think they are very frustrated by the losses- especially to teams that they KNOW they could have beaten. I also think they don't have the size and strength without the 2 injured players to hold up through the whole ...

Coach is sending a message to some of the would be starters that they have to earn their minutes. Who knows what goes on in practice as far as attitude and hard work?

He's been inconsistent, but I think Stute is good and has potential. I'm also hoping Mann will develop since he's so strong.

While the previous guy only took 3 years to get to .000 in the league.

I'll take .500 in year 4 over .000 in year three.
This.
