Re: What's So Great About This Photo?

You got the names right, but missed 8. Ha. Got 8 of them wrong? That's even worse than I thought I'd do. I figured I'd miss four. Five of these girls are new, and we haven't seen a few of the others since the 2019-20 season since they were out with injuries/sickness last year. Could you give us the...

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E_WfqUxVEAAtYSE?format=jpg&name=small Woo hoo. Worked like a charm on my iMac (Just control and click on pic).Thanks. By the way, I see you cleverly avoided the whole Black Magic Woman subject. Verrrrry interesting. :P OK, now that we've taken care of that . . . can you ...

Re: What's So Great About This Photo?

Is that a top-secret admin thing? Or, maybe you're one of those Carlos Santana Black Magic Woman types? Nothing secret or magical. It differs a bit by platform but the secret is to find a way to "Copy Image Address". On my using Chrome on my Windows laptop, it's holding CTRL down while right-...

Re: Great Article on Rhyanne Allen and How She Came To Choose Vandy

That is an excellent article, and she sounds like a perfect fit for us. The author's description of the Vanderbilt campus as "just outside Nashville" took me by surprise, though.

Re: Full Schedule Released

Looks good to me! I'd forgotten that the SECT is going to be back in Nashville this year. I also noticed that at the moment they're expecting that there won't be COVID-related restrictions on attendance. Hopefully by the time the games begin, we'll be past the current surge in Tennessee, although ev...

Re: National Anthem

Bottom line for me is that I don't care what the team does during the national anthem as long as it's done quietly. I just hope that the first games are so exciting and promising enough that we forget all about the issue. With that, I think I'll bow out of this thread.

I hope this group works hard to find the best way to put the ball in the hoop and keep the opponent away from the hoop . . . .
I think we all agree about that!!!

Re: National Anthem

Since the protest during the anthem is such a divisive issue, I believe wearing t-shirts with causes written on the back, or other such actions, would make their point in a more positive manner. Since there are so few fans at the games, It’s conceivable to me some do not attend due to kneeling prot...

I think we have it figured out, Whit. Think coach Ralph will be calling for our advice? If she calls you first, remember: No Belmont. :D

Re: Hoping for Non-conference Schedule This Week

The men released their non-conference schedule September 2, so I could see where we could get the women's schedule this week. Practice starts in about five weeks (October 14), and I look for the first game to be in the second week of November. I'm hoping coach Ralph tries to find some wins for this...

Re: Jordyn Cambridge Looking Fit

A couple pics of her working out with Dr. Kristene Kelly. It's great that Dr. Kelly shows an interest in doing these things, but what's really great is that Jordyn is able to put stress on the surgically repaired knee (especially in the second photo) while doing the work. She looks totally fit. Let...

Re: National Anthem

If the aim is to put more fans in seats, winning some games and maintaining some sort of semblance of a legit SEC roster would make quite a bit more difference than doing backflips and summersaults during the oh say can you see. When it comes to enthusiasm and interest surrounding VU women's hoops,...

Consider who started the thread and their actual motivation. In fairness, I think I'm the main culprit here. The original poster made a comment about the women's basketball team, which is appropriate. In my post, I broadened it out beyond of women's basketball, making a general comment. I shouldn't...

Re: National Anthem

Different coach and many different players, so I am hoping fora different response this year. It would generate more fans in the seats. We are all fortunate to be Americans. Morover, these girls are priviledged to be on a full scholarhip at a prestigious college. If you want to succeed in life don'...

Re: National Anthem

This is not about the military. Since at least the (Paul Harvey "Un-) Civil War, people of color & lower income, as a percentage of population, have carried much more of the burden than middle & upper class. I have multiple family members serving in the military and I honor them for their service. ...

Re: National Anthem

Sigh. I think it's too bad that the playing of the national anthem before sporting events somehow became all tangled up with "supporting the military". It hasn't always been that way. Sigh. I think it's too bad people make completely false comments without bothering to do a little research. It HAS ...
