Atlanta: Jared Southers led Devin Cochran to Georgia Tech

I continue to argue that the decision of Devin Cochran to transfer to Georgia Tech for his senior year is every bit as big a blow to the Vanderbilt offense as the graduation of any of the "Big Three" (with the exception of Ke'Shawn). Cochran was the kind of OT you build a unit around, and is in my m...

FWIW, about the head coaches VU will face this season

Among the coaches Vanderbilt is scheduled to match up with this coming season... FIVE of them are former Nick Saban assistant coaches who won championships under him: Jimbo Fisher (Texas A&M), Kirby Smart (Georgia), Lane Kiffin (Ole Miss), Jeremy Pruitt (Tennessee), and Will Muschamp (South Carolina...

Re: Hustler: "Longtime college friends Tim Corbin and Todd Fitch reunited on West End"

Well-written story, worth a read!

I continue to think Fitch was a VERY good hire. Whether he has enough pieces to play with, however, remains to be seen.

I don't see the big deal about restarting football at Vanderbilt Stadium...

... we Vanderbilt fans have already been practicing social distancing for the last 20 years or so.

There have been games the last couple of years where I could've swung a dead cat in a circle and not hit another fan.

Vandy is now the only SEC school...

... that has not announced plans to re-open its campus in the fall. No one knows what the virus is going to do between now and August, but with many southern governors opening their states for business, and many people eager to get back into the regular swim of things, there seems to be a trend here...

Re: mini-update

I am hopeful you will find that the multiple therapies have been every bit as effective in thwarting your cancer as opposing defenses were in thwarting the Gdowski offense last season.

Norcross, Ga.: Pinkney's hometown paper does story on JP & the Falcons

Pinkney joins a tight end group looking to replace Pro Bowl selection Austin Hooper, who left for the Browns in free agency. Hooper was one of the league’s most productive players at the position last season with 75 catches for 787 yards and six TDs. Atlanta traded for former Ravens first-round pic...

Re: Slightly OT: "Longtime Tennessean sports writer Jimmy Davy dies at 87"

Sorry to hear this. He was one of the good guys in the business, very generous and kind to other reporters. I was fortunate enough to have met him several times. I remember him saying one time at a sportswriting seminar back in the 1970's: "When the team you cover is losing, I think it's important t...

BucsNation talks with RB coach Tim Horton about Ke'Shawn

Coach Horton shared some of what really stood out about Vaughn as he got to know him, saying, “I felt like I could help him in some phases of the game that I thought he might need some help with, and the thing that really impressed me from the start - and really the whole time I worked with (Ke’Sha...

Re: Nifae Lealao

NIfae was a senior in 2017. He became infamous after, in the elation of the win over Kansas State (which put Vandy at 3-0), a local TV station caught him saying, "Alabama, you're next." Then Vandy lost 59-0 to the Tide. But he had a very good career at Vandy, and was part of two excellent defenses i...

Who will be Vandy's first pick in the draft?

I don't think we're going to hear any of the Big Three's names called Thursday night... possibly not Friday night. But any of the three could go as high as the third round. Just wondering... who do you think will go first? Most people think Ke'Shawn, but I'm going to say Lipscomb will go first... in...

Re: The real difficult question in regards to football season

Another question occurs to me... Let's say we sell season tickets, but social distancing measures remain in place. That means instead of the 39,000 seats, Vandy would only be able to make about 6,500-7,000 tickets per game. That would allow every fan to have plenty of personal space... The bigger qu...
