Re: Next Season

Stack can be described in many ways but stupid is not one of them. He knows that he has to get them in the tourney and that needs to be the norm not the exception. The more I think about it we really got robbed last year. It took him a while to get his style players here. For the most part it has ta...

Re: He’s Back!

Lets get the facts straight- Stack encouraged Tyrin to submit for the draft- CJS knows how beneficial this can be to the player- if he gets told he will be drafted first round then that will usually mean that he goes pro. We would miss him on the team but that is a great sign for us to crank out NBA...

Re: Tyrin Lawrence

that would be incredible if we got him back- I think it is fair to question our success in picking the right guys for the program but i also thought it important to curb some of the players don't like Stack commentary because it just does not seem to be true at all. Not sure how we find those willin...

Re: Tyrin Lawrence

i cannot speak for every dismissal but I do know that Stack suggested to at least one if not several of our guys that it might be a good idea to transfer. And also that $$ was the main reason for our highest profile departures. Yes it is a lot of turnover that goes against what we all love about col...

Re: Seven Openings?

Lewis missed over a month in the middle of the season- it took some time to get him flowing again but he said that Stack told him to be aggressive and he showed no fear in taking his shot. To me he was a big surprise and looks to be a key member of the team next year. Dort did not seem as active aft...

Re: Take deep breath, step back from ledge

Really like the thoughtful commentary. A good question that may not be answered is what was CJS role in any of these departures. I bet that he suggested to Tyrin to go see what the NBA scouts have to say- our guys have done that in past years and it seemed to be helpful in their development. He has ...

Re: Lesson and response

great analysis- really unfortunate that Dort was not healthy when Liam went down- he didn't seem the same when he played again so hopefully he just needs time to heal and plans to stick around. He will need to develop offensively and learn to play without fouling- QMB dramatically improved in that f...

our Coach

Intense, resolute, not skipping any steps, love. All these things define Stack- He is as genuine as they come- as all the slick hucksters make their recruiting rounds we can just pop in the press conferences after he benched Lawrence then Tyrin hits the shot to beat UT and springboard our whole seas...

Re: The Last Play

best part of the whole play was the reaction of the bench as he was shooting- Dia and trey thomas were crazy close to Lawrence. Another thing i loved was that Dia didn't play at all yet he seemed the most excited and he was one of the ones dumping gatorade on Stack as he walked into the locker room

Re: Thomas knows someone-Special

I don't have the stats in front of me but i do feel like Lawrence has improved his 3 point shot this year. He is much more willing to take them and seems to make his share. I do think he can keep improving. On paper though its tough to start talking too much about next year since it is hard to see h...

Re: Thomas knows someone-Special

interesting point about CKS- I think CJS expected Wright to be the guy this year and for whatever reason he just has not played as well as we had hoped. I have enjoyed watching Jordan's progression every year and hopefully he gets back in the flow asap. The shots have just not seemed to fall for him...

Re: Stack post game radio interview.

[/quote] I am sure I was there, and that was bad, but tonight they came out walking, no layup line, no running. The players were not even looking for basketballs to warm up with. I bet less than 20 warm up shots were taken by 12 players. It was sad. You could the “quit” in their body language before...

yes tom Schuberth was the first one that came to mind- really wish I could remember what he did to get the crowd against him.
I remember yelling a lot at Dan Federman but dont remember what he did either.
Stallings ripping the ball away from Noah was a highlight

Re: The talent is there

the timeout hoarding comes from his Carolina connections- As beloved as Roy was the UNC faithful never understood his refusal to call timeouts, especially to stop a run - the exact opposite was CBD who would often enter the 2nd half with only 1 TO left

Re: 9.7 sec left down 1

it looked like the first option was a 3 or long 2 for thomas which really surprised me- manon is good at driving but not always sure where to go with it- i figured we would get robbins the ball since he can create his own shot with the turnaround and can hit free throws. Fantastic moment for lawrenc...

Re: Brutal loss

i was at both games and they were truly terrible. Coaching always looks a lot better when the ball goes in the basket and it didn't either game. Tough to even imagine shooting 3 of 25 from 3. A bunch of those were shots that Southern Miss were happy for us to take- Robbins and Shelby both launched m...

lineups- big men

I think it is a mistake not to start Robbins. I have no real basis for saying this but i think that he needs to feel like the main man in order to play like one. He will know he is prob getting pulled at the first timeout so he can play hard. For the first time in forever we have good interior depth...

Re: SPJ

my son said last year that the Lakers needed a player like Pippen. If they can find a way to ditch Westbrook he might get to see some real time. They especially need outside shooting so that might be the key to PT if he can continue to develop his shot

Re: Stack gets a contract extension

my agent buddy told me years ago that if you don't extend that it gets used against you in recruiting. At the time I was mad about the extension for Derek Mason... I understand the disbelief when you look at his record but put me in the camp that thinks that CJS is building something here and we are...

Re: 26 days until basketball starts and...

Tyrin was coming on stronger towards the end of last year and I expect him to continue to improve. Losing a player like Pippen can help to eliminate the tendency to look to one player to get things going. For me it is all about CJS having his kind of team and I think we are starting to get close to ...
