Re: SECT Seeding?

It actually helps us to be the #5 or #6 seed as we should get a winnable game to add to our win total. If we win against Mississippi State and win 2 games in the tourney, I would have to think we would be in the NCAA tournament.

Re: minutes

Stackhouse recently indicated (in the article below) that it is unlikely that Robbins and Millora-Brown will play at the same time. He also mentioned that Stute was training some at the 3 spot and Wright at the 2. I have a feeling that a big lineup (Manjon, Wright, Stute, Smith, Robbins) might be ou...

Wonder if Wright might play the 2 and Ansong the 3?
I see Ansong as a good role-player rather than starter and probably as Wright’s backup. I think Manjon and Lawrence are the starting guards.

Re: When is the next game?

10 way too early takeaways from an international preseason game: 1. Colin Smith may get the most minutes of the freshmen early (backup for Myles Stute at the stretch 4?) 2. Lee Dort is gonna be really good (extremely active) although I’m not sure if he’ll get a ton of time this year. 3. Paul Lewis w...

Re: When is the next game?

Manjon looks pretty good, and I think Dort is gonna be a player (very active down low). Half ended on a nice alley oop from Wright to Lawrence. Jordan Wright looks confident and is clearly the best player.

Is Ansong #13? He’s listed as #20 on vucommodores.com, but there is no #13 listed.

Re: Next Year’s Roster

If we’re able to bring in an experienced point guard, I really like the potential of this lineup: Exp. PG, Wright-SG, Stute-SF, QMB-PF, & Robbins-C. Add in Thomas, Dezonie, Laurence, Mann, Shelby, Dort, etc. and this would look like a sure fire tournament team (barring major injuries).

Observations after 2 games

1. Pippen is special. He turned it on in crunch time. 2. Wright is capable as a #2. His body transformation is impressive. 3. Stute can shoot and looks confident. He should average low double figures. 4. Millora-Brown looks like he can fill the #2 big guy role. Decent defense, get some boards, and i...

Re: New facility plans and renderings released

While it's not a stadium overhaul, it does make major improvements to the look and feel of the stadium! I like it! I wonder what the seating capacity will be as it looks like the renovations in the south end zone will remove some seats. Not a big concern at all since we haven't been able to fill it ...

Based on the first game, here's what the rotation seems to look like (now & when Chatman/Robbins are back): PG Pippen/Thomas SG Lawrence/Daniels SF Wright/Dezonie/Dorsey PF Stute/Mann C Millora-Brown/Frank PG Pippen/Thomas/Daniels SG Chatman/Lawrence/Dezonie SF Wright/Mann/Dorsey PF Stute/Frank ...

Would Owusu be able to play in the safety/nickel part of that position? Would be a really big S/DB.

The Michael Warden story seems pretty cool: a walk-on @ Vandy, now starts @ center as a senior and was also named a member of the Leadership Council.

"Mike Wright is one of our best eleven on offense...and we're anxious to see what kind of role he can carve out for us on offense as a playmaker and a guy that can be a gamechanger for us." Do you think we might could even see Seals and Wright on the field at the same time? Especially with...

It is interesting that there is only 1 of those "or" situations for starting positions (Owusu & Wright @ LB). It looks like this might be a pretty legitimate initial depth chart.

Didn't Malik Langham play more DE previously? It's a little surprising to me that he's starting at DT over Wilkins Jr.

Re: Depth chart released

Biggest surprises to me: 1. Only 1 of the OL opt-outs is starting (Clemens @ LG) 2. Michael Warden is the starting center (and Dawkins is listed as backup at RG) 3. Will Sheppard is starting over Abdur-Rahman 4. Ethan Barr is starting over Afemui 5. Owusu and Wright are on equal footing as a starter...

How interesting is it that Ashmore was chosen? Does he start over Steen/Stewart/Clemens at one of the tackle spots?

The class is looking pretty good comparative to previous classes.
